White-fronted Bee-eaters perched in the late afternoon near their nesting holes in a sandbank on an island in the Kafue River (Kafue NP, Zambia).
The guides had put a branch on the sandbank before the breeding season to facilitate observation from a small boat.

the more you see. The more you photograph, the more you realize what can be photographed and what can't be photographed. You just have to keep doing it :-)

Looking so peaceful and sunny this was actually an attack on me :-) ... probably the seagulls had a nest nearby.
Was hier so friedlich und sonnig aussieht war tatsächlich ein Angriff auf mich :-) ...wahrscheinlich hatten die Möwen ein Nest in der Nähe.

Sunrise over Kuilima Cove, O'ahu Hawai'i
Sunlight for the solstice, whether yours is summer or winter.
(I had to borrow some sunshine from Hawai'i for this post because we haven't had much here, but the weather forecast is for finally some summer weather later in the week!)

Taking the line of the East Loop we follow the Mail Rail tunnels further along, just waiting to see what's around the next bend in the tracks.
The Mail Rail tunnels were used to transport mail all around London on a network of automated underground electric trains. It opened in 1927, and only ceased service in 2003.
The nuthatches constitute a genus, Sitta, of small passerine birds belonging to the family Sittidae. Characterised by large heads, short tails, and powerful bills and feet, nuthatches advertise their territory using loud, simple songs. Most species exhibit grey or bluish upperparts and a black eye stripe. Wikipedia
Art- This Nuthatch was running around and around the tree, so it gave me the idea to put the images together.
Oxbow Lake Loop trail, Middle Fork Snoqualmie, Washington
In addition to visiting the river shown in the previous post, this loop hike also winds its way around an oxbow lake, left behind when the river changed course. The lake curves and bends its way through the lush forest and vegetation that has grown up around it, but with no inflow or egress the water lies motionless in its confinement.
There isn’t a way to access the lake on the hike since the trail runs above it, but there are several good viewpoints along the way to sit in quiet and admire the stillness of the water surface and the clarity of the reflections upon it.
Brown Longicorn Beetle (subfamily Cerambycinae)
A lifer for me today. I was going to get an image of the pink Gum Flowers on the tree across the street when I spotted this Beetle.
