Cadets from University of California, Santa Barbara complete the first event of the competition, a relay consisting of 200 deadlifts as a team and carrying water jugs, 3 sandbags on a skedco, and kettlebells approximately one-mile, at 8th Brigade Army ROTC Ranger Challenge, Joint Base Lewis-McChord, Wash., Jan. 26, 2023. Cadet Chester was one of the newest additions to the University of Minnesota–Twin Cities Northern Warfare Challenge team. He had a pup-ticularly good day! The first day of the Northern Warfare Challenge took place on February 24 at Ft. McCoy, Wis. Cadets from 17 teams from 10 different Senior and Junior Military Colleges competed in the 1st Brigade Army ROTC Ranger Challenge, October 28-30, 2021 at Fort Knox, Ky. The second day of competition had the Cadets up early for a 12-mile ruck march before the Night and Day Land Navigation events. Teams of 2-3 Cadets must plot points on a map before heading out to locate their points on the Land Navigation course.
