The Armada project as part of the ‘Paleiskwartier’at Den Bosch. Ten remarkable apartment buildings were creaed Architect: Building Design Partnership Anthony McGuirk. The south façade is clad with stainless steel plating, mimicking the sails of an old windjammer.
Rouen (France) - l’Armada de Rouen est l’un des plus grands rassemblements de voiliers issus de 11 nationalités. La première édition remonte à 1989. Du 8 au 18 juin 2023, 38 ont navires se sont amarrés aux quais de Rouen, en plein centre-ville. Plus de 6 millions de visiteurs étaient attendus pendant ces 10 jours.
Dimanche 18 juin, cette armada a redescendu la Seine dans une grande parade, sur les 120 kilomètres de méandres qui séparent Rouen de la haute mer. Prochain rendez-vous dans 4 ans.
Rouen (France) - the Armanda de Rouen is one of the largest gatherings of sailboats. The first edition dates back to 1989. From June 8 to 18, 2023, 38 ships moored at the quays of Rouen, in the city center. More than 6 million visitors were expected during these 10 days.
Sunday, June 18, this armada descended the Seine in a great parade, on the 120 kilometers of meanders which separate Rouen from the high seas. Next meeting in 4 years.

De gauche à droite :
Le Dar Młodzieży est un voilier de type trois-mâts carré en acier battant pavillon polonais. Son port d'attache est Gdynia. C'est un des plus beaux voiliers de l'Armada... Et un de mes "chouchous". Je l'ai visité à nouveau.
L’Oosterschelde est une goélette à trois mâts et hunier néerlandais
Le Loth Loriën est un trois-mâts goélette qui a subi une importante rénovation pour devenir un luxueux voilier de croisière.

L'horloge ne fonctionne pas. Il était 14h et il devenait difficile de circuler sur les quais de la rive droite . Après avoir parcouru tout le quai (mieux vaut le faire le matin!) e m'apprêtais à passer sur la rive gauche par le pont Flaubert.

Les quais de la rive gauche de Rouen ont été réhabilités, c'est désormais une agréable promenade. Lors de l'Armada, cette rive est beaucoup plus calme que la rive droite : à privilégier l'après-midi.

V-Huset (V-building) is an iconic housing project in Ørestad, Copenhagen. The V in the name was derived from its V-shaped floorplan. But the V also returns on the south façade of the building with a huge invasion of triangular balconies. When reflected in the windows behind, they remind me of a large fleet of Viking ships, conquering the skies. And this association also matches its Scandinavian location. The building was designed by Bjarke Ingels Group & JDS.
06/08/2016; Everything was just perfect as I made this shot in Den Bosch. The sky was nice and bright, the ducks that were behind me on the edge of the pond kept quiet, plenty of people were home (although I wouldn't have minded nobody having been home at the two brightly lit apartments in the right building). Wonderful.
