The Revoltech Amazing Yamaguchi Arkham Knight Catowman came out I want to say early March '24, recently delivered here as I opted to use a slower shipping method to save a few bucks. I actually forgot about it as for some strange reason, I couldn't find this figure on my usual vendor of choice, Anime Export.
Retailing for 10,450 Yen, I guess it was only a matter of time before Revoltech figure prices starting creeping up to match that of its competitors. I haven't bought one of these in quite some time, so I don't know if the windowless box is now a permanent thing, but I can say that the line still leans into the Value Proposition crowd more than its Japanese competitors.
You get 10 total hands, three faces with eye articulation, a separate head with goggles down, coiled whip for attaching to the hip, metal wire whip and extended whip for posing, a choker, some jewelry, and a base/stand.
So while I can see the Akrham Knight in this design, the casual collector is just gonna see this another Catwoman, especially the face. To the more interested fan, you'll notice that a good amount of the Arkham suit made its way into the final design.I feel they did a good job making sure her hips got the right representation, but I feel the chest is a tad small and low.
The line itself sells figures based on the promise of articulation, though some joints looks strange out of the box, specifically the shoulder joints in this case. I AM happy, however, the line has moved away from using pure Revoltech joints, because not only does this affect articulation, but the use of them sometimes screws with aesthetics of the finished product. You'll see a few things on this figure you don't typically see, like ball jointed thigh twists and ball joined calf connection.
Photos will show that you're probably going to be just fine in terms of posing, though more extreme poses remain a challenge, particularly anything requiring extreme ab crunch/back tilt.
Paint Applications are OK. They're generally clean, though the tongue on the one face would disagree. Smaller details are painted just fine. I don't think the Black is painted, just top coated. Flesh tones definitely aren't painted, per usual.
Build Quality wise, things are good. No more clicking joints means no more issues with misalignment. Parts finishes are good, and haven't really been an issue for a few years now. The neck joint is fine per se, but feels a bit loose so we'll see how things go over time.
