My soul and my camera need the woods and water.
Back in October I loaded a roll of long-expired Kodak Gold 200 in the old-but-not-expired Argus C3 with the 35mm lens and went for a walk through the neighborhood and down to Durand Eastman Park. The colors came out intense, but it was that sort of day.

It took me three years, but I am beginning to get the hang of this camera. No double exposures, no blank shots, no ripped film, no out-of-focus shots this time.

(It appears that my Cinestill developer had had too many rolls of film developed with it. Both this and the previous roll were significantly under-developed. Cinestill one-step developer has its advantages, but I plan to go back to my Kodak D76.)

This is the fourth time I participated in Argus Day. As last year, no double exposures, no blank shots, no ripped film, no out-of-focus shots. Still, I don't think that the Argus will become my favourite camera any time soon.

Patio Park, also more commonly called "Patio Town" was the third rung of the company town ladder, below the upper class Upper Town, and working class Lower Town.
It was designed and segregated for Mexican immigrants coming to work the mining operations. The homes were all created with open-air patios for fresh air and garden lifestyle that Mexicans were accustomed to their native land.

My other contribution to Argus Day 2025, 25 Argust 2025.
This is the sixth time I participated in Argus Day. As last year, no double exposures, no blank shots, no ripped film, no out-of-focus shots. Still, I don't think that the Argus will become my favourite camera any time soon. Though I must say that the Cintar lens always provides nice contrasts.

I followed my wife to a flea market today. I always have an eye out for an old camera that might work. I don't often buy but I got this photo using an old point and shoot camera I bought for ten dollars at this flea market. The first camera I ever snapped a picture with was an Argus C3 that I still have. Seeing one abused this way gave me a tinge of sadness.

How I celebrated my seventy-fifth birthday.
Monday evening, June 16, 2025. I celebrated my 75th birthday by launching the canoe at LaSalle's Landing across the road from BayCreek Paddling Center. I paddled out on Irondequoit Bay for a bit then explored nooks and crannies on the creek. A little over an hour, so a couple of miles. Low 70sF. I love padding this time of day day as the sun drops behind the hills.
My avatar is from the selfie I took to mark the occasion.

Chad has been cultivating the wildflowers that occur naturally in our yard. I call it "Yard Gone Wild". He keeps everything else neatly manicured, but gives extra love to the wildflowers, especially the Globemallow. Here's the largest of several whoppers.
When I reached high school I gave up the Brownie Box 126 purchased in 1962 while we lived in Leicester, England and followed my Dads lead shooting this ArgusC3. He was already shooting slides but for me it was Tri-X for many years.
