i love being able to wander into studio at odd hours and pour plaster onto molds made of found objects and laugh with the poor souls pulling all nighters and then walk back to my suite feeling light and refreshed. arch school's very good for me.

a still from one of my projects. i wanted to create an illusion using filters (those clear rubber table top protectors) and a screen (mylar- it's wonderfully translucent) that were activated by some natural occurence (wind from a fan). The investigation was inspired by Dutch architect Dirk Jan Postel's glass house in Almelo (definitely google it to see an awesome use of fritted[printed] glass).

to be fair, i think they were off studying for the next morning's tech test, or scavenging for mod arch books in the library.

one of the older students of that bay put up the sign (probably in the middle of the night). he really cares :)

the first project of third year: design a dinner pavillion along the banks of the rideau river, build it, make dinner, and enjoy it

four weeks of designing and building for one wonderful evening (the pavillions will have to come down by tomorrow)
