This one is from the same series as my "Entropy" photo.

A glass of water, blue background, stirred the water with a spoon and took a shot. The result is 180 deg. rotated.

Strobist info: Sony F42 camera right, shooting diagonal through blue plastic background. Triggered by camera commander flash.

In Greek we have a saying "every good thing, at some point ends". And that's what happened to my vacation as I am now back to "reality". At least I had wonderful time while I was visiting Aruba, a place that I have never been before. And even if it wasn't Greece, it felt like it a little. You see, in Greece many people have a tradition for their summer vacation: they pick an island and they visit it by exploring it and going to every beach it has. Aruba offered me that opportunity as it has many places to explore, lots of beautiful beaches and it's an extremely safe island overall. So if you are not a person that will just lay by the Resort's pool and have a drink, Aruba is your island. whether you explore it by making your own schedule or using a local guide, it's fun and lovely! I took this picture at the Baby beach, probably the most famous beach in the island outside the resorts area. It's a small bay, almost a lagoon, with shallow crystal clear water and very strong winds. So don't even try to set up your beach tent or umbrella. You are better off finding a divi-dive tree (called Watapana in the local Awawak language) and lay underneath it to get some shade and cool off.

Another from the heavy rain we had here in Berlin a few days back, this tiny drop was precariously hanging off a leaf end and luckily, there was a big enough patch of blue sky beginning to open up which to my delight gave me an aqua blue backdrop against the sky, now this is great quality rain, if there is such a thing, as the water drop was completely clear and transparent.

Again this is with my new toy the Raynox DCR-250 which I highly recommend, attached to the Nikkor VR1 55-200mm at full stretch.

I hope everyone is well, Friday tomorrow and so as always, thank you! :)

Aqua alta (pronounced [ˈakwa ˈalta] is the term used here in Veneto for the exceptional tide peaks that occur periodically in the northern Adriatic Sea. The peaks reach their maximum in the Venetian Lagoon, where they cause partial flooding of Venice; flooding also occurs elsewhere around the northern Adriatic, but much less often and to a lesser degree. The phenomenon occurs mainly between autumn and spring, when the astronomical tides are reinforced by the prevailing seasonal winds which hamper the usual reflux.

Captured from Chapel Porth Beach, Cornwall. Chapel Porth Beach is a small sandy and pebble cove at the bottom of a narrow valley on the North Cornwall coast. At low tide the beach extends to an excellent wide beach which is popular with surfers. Note that the sand at Chapel Porth is completely covered at high tide. The coast path can be walked to St Agnes Head for spectacular views. On the coast path the Wheal Coates mine can also be visited. www.cornwallbeachguide.co.uk/northcornwall/chapelporth/ch....

This what the camera did with the late afternoon light on the lake's edge & lily pads today.

Yes, the Girlz got yet another trip out to the same lake as yesterday… but a different location..wanted to see what the light was doing at the opposite side…

I found this interesting..

A great swell going on today at the beach

Venice, Italy, 2018

Venice has been sinking for hundreds of years. High water, named aqua alta is increasingly common. That amount of high water depicted is rather a joke, it gets rather troublesome if water is up to your hips...

Hydro electricity would be a great way to go in Iceland, but then there is so much geothermal activity on the Island that I suppose it doesn't matter how you do it. Energy is abundant in this part of the world, from natural renewable sources. This is one of millions of waterfalls on this island. In fact after visiting Iceland all other waterfalls have paled in comparison. It the type of place to go if you love waterfalls as there are so many that most in the backcountry go unmarked unless they are monstrous. This is an unmarked waterfall in the backcountry. Many of the most beautiful places in Iceland require a jeep capable of being submerged around 3 feet deep in a river. Some places more. I have a new found respect for the capabilities of modern automobiles after visiting this place.

Macro curious? The in-focus portion of this small ewer's spout is about 1.5 inches across, so the total width of this scene would be about 3 inches.
