In the United States, early American children gave teachers apples because the “families whose children attended schools were often responsible for housing and feeding frontier teachers,” it is also said that farmers' kids gave struggling teachers apples during the onset of the Great Depression.
If your school allows it, giving a teacher an apple is still a kind way to show a teacher your appreciation!

First recorded in the 1860s, the proverb originated in Wales, and was particularly prevalent in Pembrokeshire. The first English version of the saying was "Eat an apple on going to bed, and you’ll keep the doctor from earning his bread." The current english phrasing, "An apple a day keeps the doctor away", began usage in the early 20th century. It turns out that eating an apple a day really does keep the doctor away -- but you've got to eat the peel. And no fair skipping the apple altogether in favor of megadoses of vitamins in pill form. Fruits and vegetables in their natural state are better, Cornell University researchers say.

The Poisoned Apple is a magic blood-red apple which, when bitten, will send its victim into the Sleeping Death. A victim of that can only be revived by love's first kiss.
I have started uploading my old photos to flickr, so I can search them easily and download anywhere.
I will occasionally share some of these photos with users on Flickr.

"Apple PowerCD was a US$499 CD player first sold by Apple Computer in 1993 and discontinued several years later. It was a re-badged Philips-designed product which was sold in addition to Apple's speakers and also included a remote control. The PowerCD was capable of reading Kodak photo CDs, data CDs and audio CDs. It can connect to Apple Macintosh personal computers through SCSI and also to stereo systems and televisions. Today they are collectible items as they are relatively rare."
I don't know if it still works.

CHRP (common hardware reference platform) machines were able to boot both WIndows NT and Mac OS. You could choose which OS you want to boot from using an Open Firmware. The picture here is an example openfirmware implementation bu FireWorks
