Last spring, I rededicated myself to becoming healthier and rejoined Weight Watchers for the *cough cough* 5th time. The WW app makes it very easy to see a particular food's nutritional information by simply scanning the bar code. One discovery I made was the most delicious chocolate treat made by ChocoRite. This is the chocolate caramel crispy... it's sugar-free, high in fiber, 35 calories per piece and only 1 WW smart point per piece. And it's DELICIOUS! At my local grocery store, these treats are located with the diet aids like SlimFast. Yum!

Teaser shot, made with my phone. As usual, analogue will follow in a week or so.

Btw, my new camera app makes HDR really look dramatic.!

Foggy self portrait. Captured using the Pentax mobile app. Makes controlling the K1 II remotely pretty easy.

Three color studies of Yipss for JKPP. I had fun doing these but Yipss is pretty small in all his photos and this app makes a pretty thick mark so details were definitely challenging.

Yipss' own work: www.flickr.com/photos/yipsss/

Yipss is definitely a "gold star" member here at JKPP. He has been a steady contributor since he joined the party in 2010, and he has made more than 800! portraits, including wonderful group portraits from photos taken at meet-ups.

Oh Flickr, your iPhone app makes me fall in love with you all over again...

[Check out my previous post of this same plane when it was directly over head]. I am fascinated by the 1000's of amazing planes zipping across the sky. And FlightRadar24 app makes it possible to know so much about each flight. Here's an Emirates Airlines flight going from Italy to NYC. More info about this flight and more is posted with the other picture.

This picture was taken almost exactly 2 minutes before the Airbus was directly overhead. Assuming it stayed at 7.6 miles high while moving at 518 mph, Pythagorus says the plane was about 19 miles distant when I took this picture using a 150-600mm Tamron zoom on my Canon T6i camera. I love that lens! I love that camera! This photo is a "full-resolution crop" of the original picture. I added minor "sharpening" & increased the contrast a bit. You can almost make out the "Emirates" logo, and you can even see where the registration number is painted (right side of picture near wingtip)!

yahoo android email app makes trackerball led go purple when you have got a new email

This photo is part of an ongoing experiment if I can produce worthwile photos with a low end phone camera. The flickr android app makes it easy and fast to directly upload an image just seconds after I took it. So those images are a lot more current than almost all of my normal uploads of lightroom proccessed images.

If image optimization was a part of this workflow this image would look better. But at least so far all my camera phone photos in my photostream did not have any post processing changes applied.

This is now one of the few cell phone photos i post processed with the Picnik editor.

I avoid giving the cell phone photos any normal tags to avoid polluting my tag searches with them.

Damn iphone flickr app makes it hard to upload now and add to groups!

SFU education professor emerita Selma Wassermann has created an iPad app called My Word! Reader. It's designed to help children learn to read.

See the story here.

The world’s largest social media service, started by Mark Zuckerberg has announced that our team has worked for a Messenger called ‘Photo Magic’ which is used to identify the person in a image that you want to send and it conveys for whom to send you. This Facebook Messenger app is used to select the person for whom to send your images with.

Facebook’s messenger app, Photo Magic will be started on Thursday for those who are having Apple iPhones and Google Android based smartphones. The Facebook massaging app in Android or iPhone versioned mobile can be used to find out the person in the photo that you want to share, so it can be easier and faster while sending it to the correct person.

Facebook announces that after completion of testing, we can release the app. It can test for one month among the Australian smartphone users and then started to send it to the plenty of users. Facebook wants to distribute the Photo Magic app to the whole over the world except Canada and the European Union.

The Messenger app, Photo Magic has more personalized options for managing your message tabs. Now you cab able to choose nicknames to groups and you can choose your conversation box color so that it makes easy to track your group members. Everybody will have an option to change the features so you can be very careful while choosing your feature. The Photo Magic messenger has a messaging thread which offers the customer to share the image for a group of people just by clicking twice. Facebook has mentioned that we can notice around 9.5 billion images in each month that were already shared via messenger app.

"Anyone in the conversation can change the colors, nicknames and emojis as many times as they want, and when you make a change, the people you're talking to will see what updates you selected." The Menlo Park, California, firm thinks that if this new feature Photo Magic automation is successful then automatically the users will be more, in selecting picture and find out the persons in the images that you want to share.

Testing out the upcoming SketchTime app by Hansol Huh. These are sketches done before all the extra enhancements to the app. All work done on the iPhone 4s using fingers and Pogo Sketch Pro stylus. The image is uploaded at full resolution so please view full size if you're curious of the image quality of the app. I don't know what it is, but it's really fun sketching with this app. All the other apps I use I end up painting more than sketching. Somehow this app makes drawing much easier for me.

My thanks to Rachel/ Staunch Studio for letting me know about this hilarious app.

Here is how this app is supposed to be used:

www.youtube.com/watch?v=4IUPTGN42xM&feature=related

I guarantee that, as a human, you don't want to try drawing with this App. Unless you just happen to be as - obsessed - with different kinds of mark making as I am. I had a blast, like my results and will play with it more. But it's not for you. Really. Don't say I didn't warn you.

The mark this app makes is really fat, so it's really hard to do details like the eye - same familiar problem as the Pollock App. To get around that I did two larger-sized drawings, each of half a face, and brought them together in Photoshop.

HM, my superpower is to be able to make a reasonably interesting face from any App that allows you to make a mark. If that's completely bogus, please feel free to kick this out of the MAAP pool.

The same head sculpt. But the paint apps make them look different.

I rescued them from obscurity .

They will now hang out with my Fisher Price Adventure People.

The only action figure community they fit in with ....

Been meaning to do this for a while to share with some friends. Just a shot of my daily desktop. The wallpaper pic rotates through a series of pictures every 30-minutes. I especially like this one because it is fun pic of my son.

The five apps displayed are always on my Dock. All other apps make cameo appearances when needed thanks to Google Quick Search Box--which is essentially Quicksilver, part deux.

This picture is in itself a paradox: Taken during a testing session, it shows a 85-year-old test person using EASIERPHONE on a smartphone. EASIERPHONE is an app designed to make smartphones more comfortable and easier to use for older people. Much to my astonishment, the test person had a magnifying glass with him to test EASIERPHONE. What a paradox - should the app make it easier to see as well. In addition, the picture captures well today's digitalization, in which the older adults must not be forgotten in society.

Enjoy! For all who want the hard copy of their photo instead of a screenshot, download the app, make an account, and feel free to save whatever you want. Be sure to follow @chrgar_photo on instagram!!! :)

Smart Life App - makes your home Smart.

Information architecture

I specify this app for an average to big houses with potential of many electric devices.

I divide the devices to two big Categories: My things and my places.

My things - all the devices organized by type: like all the lights

My places - in order to make a simpler and more useful use, the user can arrange the devices by groups like: rooms. And that groups to unity to a mega group like: floors.

All the devices are separate to another 2 categories: on/off and open/close

Open close is a group for all the things in the house that can be open close and lock – like: doors, windows and shatters. On /off group is for all the rest.

One of the big features is the scenarios: An action or a series of actions that activate automatic or by user wish. I divide them for 2 groups: rules and modes

Rules - Trigger by schedule or by action without user interfering, like when the front door is open the lobby lights will turn on or at 7 am each morning the boiler will turn on for 30 min.

Modes - Trigger by user interfering. Like when the user wake up he activate "rise and shine mode that open the shatters, the coffee machine and the lights and also turn on the radio on his favorite channel.

Other big features are the Statistics and history use. This app monitor a lot of useful information about the uses of the different devise in the house. It show that data to the user by simple info graphics.

For the home screen I wanted to show just the devices that are on and open also popular actions and modes.

As Danny reported in a Tokyo Live Blog a couple of days ago, Twitter has just relaunched here in Japan with a new site designed for Japanese mobile phones. Following that, the national broadcaster NHK and other stations heavily promoted the service, demonstrating how it was being used to a Japanese public who might not be all that familiar with microblogs.

I'm here at the opening ceremony of the Meguro-ku Tourism Association festival, trying out a brand new augmented reality application for the iPhone 3GS - Layar - which overlays whatever the iPhone camera is looking at with a grid of live Twitter updates.

As you can see here, there's not many people near me tweeting, although one Twitter user 2.1km away has just rediscovered a jacket in their wardrobe - hurrah!

Whilst this photo may not look all that exciting, using this app makes you feel like you're living in the future - as you turn around so more tweets appear on the futuristic grid in that direction - it feels like you're scanning the air for hidden data messages!

There's also a layer for Google Local Search, which contains things like reviews and photos of food from nearby restaurants.

If you're interested in Augmented Reality check out Danny's post about Sekai Camera here: www.dannychoo.com/post/en/25163/Sekai+Camera.html

Has anyone else tried this app out where they live?

What hidden data would you want to be able to scan the air for?

Joseph

Las nuevas tecnologías y las aplicaciones de los smartphones hacen que se puedan hacer maravillas, pero hasta que punto es considerado fotografía? Quizás no pero a mi me gusta...

The new technologies & the smatphones apps make the possibility to do all kinds of things but, is this consider photography? Maybe not, but I like it!
