Last spring, I rededicated myself to becoming healthier and rejoined Weight Watchers for the *cough cough* 5th time. The WW app makes it very easy to see a particular food's nutritional information by simply scanning the bar code. One discovery I made was the most delicious chocolate treat made by ChocoRite. This is the chocolate caramel crispy... it's sugar-free, high in fiber, 35 calories per piece and only 1 WW smart point per piece. And it's DELICIOUS! At my local grocery store, these treats are located with the diet aids like SlimFast. Yum!

UPDATE: I do believe I got it figured out here, folks. I had myself protected from new software by using a passcode on my Touch. Once I disabled my passcode (which, of course, requires that you touch your passcode into your touch), then iTunes stops with the annoying error message and begins to update your iPod. I knew I could figure it out if I tried hard enough. But frankly, I don't know if this is a feature or a bug... I do know, however, it's not the sort of behavior Apple would prefer, and if they want you to have to enter your passcode before updating your software, then that's what the message should be... and you shouldn't have to disable it. In fact, you should be able to enter it directly from iTunes, shouldn't you? I should think so. Feel free to tell me your experience or disagreements or annoyances or grumblings in the comments. And enjoy the rest of your Wednesday.

Thanks for the update for my iPod Touch, Steve. I don't mean to take any of the air out of your keynote, but just to be clear? I'm not enjoying this message so much. Also? Twenty bucks so I can get mail, take a note not to forget the milk (again), and have my iPod tell me where I am? That kind of sucks. Especially given that if I'm in range of wifi, google apps make those things absurdly unnecessary.
Why do I suddenly feel like the bastard son of a telephone?
Will I spend the twenty bucks? Probably. Because I's a sucker and a Touch addict. But I'll grumble about it. I'lll grumble about it a lot. Especially once the SDK is released and an open source mail app and notes app and whatever else app becomes available to kick the hell out of these and force apple to make the twenty dollar greed fee go away.
Of course, if I would have waited twenty days before getting my Touch, these would have been included (I hesitate to use the word "free" on a four hundred dollar item).
But this is all kind of moot until I can get 1.1.3 to load. It better not be moot for long or I'll demand a Genius Bar installed in Spokane.
A guy can dream, can't he?

I'm so silly. I drew this piece of dorkiness on my iPod Touch for a game I've had for a while... I just really wanted to make some sweet pixel art. Fun though, isn't it?
Coded in THREE DAYS, Flappy Bird is a super-simple, extremely difficult game that took the internet by storm. Old school challenge, old school losing. It's the most downloaded game (like, millions of downloads) on the App Store and nobody really knows why. The app makes the author 50,000 bucks from ads per day. That said, the story went even further this week when the Vietnamese Developer chose to delete the game from the app store because he felt ASHAMED of his work. Crazy!
Get it for another day before it's gone.

This photo is part of an ongoing experiment if I can produce worthwile photos with a low end phone camera. The flickr android app makes it easy and fast to directly upload an image just seconds after I took it. So those images are a lot more current than almost all of my normal uploads of lightroom proccessed images.
If image optimization was a part of this workflow this image would look better. But at least so far all my camera phone photos in my photostream did not have any post processing changes applied.
This is now one of the few cell phone photos i post processed with the Picnik editor.
I avoid giving the cell phone photos any normal tags to avoid polluting my tag searches with them.

⚠️ If you dry the paper with a hair dryer (Or others). Wait at least 5 minutes, so that the paper is completely impregnated with coffee.
ℹ️ Go generously on the coffee so you do not have to do both odds. If not, simply do step 2 on both sides.
ℹ️ Do not pour hot coffee on the paper. Wait until it cools to reach room temperature at the room where you are.
ℹ️ Drying varies depending on the humidity of the medium on which your paper is dried and the number of coffe you pour on the paper. It takes between 2 and 12 hours maximum to have a completely dry paper.
⚠️ Pay attention to hair, dust ... etc. This can disturb the impregnation of coffee.

Testing out the upcoming SketchTime app by Hansol Huh. These are sketches done before all the extra enhancements to the app. All work done on the iPhone 4s using fingers and Pogo Sketch Pro stylus. The image is uploaded at full resolution so please view full size if you're curious of the image quality of the app. I don't know what it is, but it's really fun sketching with this app. All the other apps I use I end up painting more than sketching. Somehow this app makes drawing much easier for me.

I guarantee that, as a human, you don't want to try drawing with this App. Unless you just happen to be as - obsessed - with different kinds of mark making as I am. I had a blast, like my results and will play with it more. But it's not for you. Really. Don't say I didn't warn you.
The mark this app makes is really fat, so it's really hard to do details like the eye - same familiar problem as the Pollock App. To get around that I did two larger-sized drawings, each of half a face, and brought them together in Photoshop.
HM, my superpower is to be able to make a reasonably interesting face from any App that allows you to make a mark. If that's completely bogus, please feel free to kick this out of the MAAP pool.

My LG phone, which served me well since 2006, has been retired, replaced by an iPhone. There are three reasons for this change, the primary one being that my wife (She Who Must Be Obeyed) has been urging me for a year to get an iPhone and could not understand why I wanted to live in the Dark Ages of phone technology. She’s happy now.
Other things influenced this purchase. For years I have been thinking about getting an mp3 player and was pretty sure I’d get an iPod Touch. So the iPhone will be my music machine. Lastly, and most recent, was my buying a GoPro Hero3 camera. It just so happens that aiming the Hero3 is a bit challenging without buying a special attachment for it. And wonder of wonders, there is a GoPro app for the iPhone (and Android phones) that uses WiFi to provide a live view of the Hero3’s image, solving the aiming problem. In addition, that app makes it very easy to change the Hero3’s settings, which is a bit cumbersome to do on the camera itself.
The question arises: “Why did I buy a GoPro camera? Was it to document the astounding performance of the Green Weenie (my mini-van) on the rugged trails near Moab, Utah? Was it to record my barrel ride over Niagara Falls or my swinging on Corona Arch? Snowboarding on half-pipes? Scuba diving? NASCAR race participation? None of the above. I plan to make triking videos once I buy a recumbent trike. I’m sure other uses will present themselves.

UPDATE IN NOVEMBER 2014:
I bought a trike (great; www.flickr.com/photos/listorama/sets/72157634402978458/) and tried using a GoPro camera (not so great). Using the GoPro camera was too complicated, the image was very shaky when the camera was mounted on the trike, and I realized I do not have enough time to edit videos (I can hardly keep up with still photos).

Some say that you can only meet casual lovers if you use a hookup site. They claim that it's all a big joke and that most women use these websites to advertise their promiscuity, and this will ultimately hurt the community. The fact is that there are plenty of women out there who have no interest in a committed relationship. A woman who is looking for sex only uses the hookup site as a way to meet casual lover. If women truly had no interest in being committed to someone, they would not use the dating services.
I believe that both sides of the argument need to realize that there is a difference between hookup sites and hookup apps. The hookup sites actually help give people a place to find latina actresses. These hookup apps on the other hand provide individuals with the opportunity to meet casual lovers. These apps make it easier for people to find love without the hassle of a commitment phobic person forcing a relationship on another person. It's more beneficial to a woman who doesn't want a serious relationship and only wants a casual relationship.
So there are two sides to the issue when discussing the pros and cons of hookup sites versus dating sites. There are plenty of advantages and disadvantages for both that should be discussed thoroughly before making any type of decision. Everyone has different needs, wants and desires. It's totally up to you to decide which is best for you. Just remember that there are lots of advantages and no cons when using the services of either kind of dating site.
