"Hard times are sometimes blessings in disguise.
We do have to suffer but in the end it makes us strong, better and wise."
~Anurag Prakash Ray
Sheltering at home is truly a blessing. I have so many things to do... the days fly by too quickly.
Yup, Same spot as yesterday (because I am trying to stay close to home) and because I decided that I really like it ... and since I worked so hard to reclaim it from the weeds and vines, I felt that I should make use of it. And while I was out there, it rained, it snowed, the sun came out, the wind howled... and I wondered why I wasn't wearing gloves! It felt like winter! Got this shot and headed home for hot chocolate. I am loving every day that I have the time to do what I want to do. Life is good... blessings in disguise.

"Thought of love and emotion
love is a lovely reason
look in to your dream eye
feel in you a new season
story of love story of life
tell you many thing in life
rise is began from the time
when heart open real eyes
someone live in your heart
image of her look moon like
you have chosen her milky way
her way is the horizon of life
so many time so many talk
but you have to stand from the mind
life is not a dream of night
your dream awake with the rise."

"Mommy, where are you"...caught this slightly worried expression on the face of my friend's daughter. This is another one in my series on "Mother" this month. My other pictures in this series are here, here, here and here.
I always thought Peekaboo was a fun game, until I read at Wikipedia (here) that there is psychology behind this...ahh with reasons of science they are taking fun out of everything whether romance, love at first sight, coffee, sex, colour of car you drive...the list is endless!
Udaan. Flight. Get out of life. Get Leh'd. So what if the roads are messed up? So what if Punjab is flooded? So what if it's snowing in Manali and the Rohtang pass is blocked? So what if Srinagar is under curfew? So what if we get landslided? I'm not sure how, but its gonna be Leh. Come what may. Max, we'll die!
Goa. Colva beach. Monsoons.

Ah...my first pic from my new Mac.
I know there are millions of splash pics on Flickr but for me it is the first. Always wanted to try it out. I think I am 70% there and in the next shoot will try to create something that is much better.

My 6th and last photograph in the night series this month. This was taken in my moving car after a late night party on the near-empty roads on National Highway-8 in New Delhi, India. As some people have asked, the model of car is Honda Accord.

My second model shoot, even if it was a practice session. Good to get an expressive, camera friendly model. Two lights were used. The bigger softbox was in the front left side of the model, and a smaller one exactly opposite at the back.
Model: Roshien Singh
There are more pictures of her in my photostream.

Setting fire to water was this lady in red in Gold Coast, Australia. Just had to find the right camera position without her knowing it!
While walking towards the London Eye my daughter suddenly pointed and said,"Papa, look what a shot". And I saw sun perfectly centered at the eye of the Eye! I wondered how could she see it and I missed it...ummm
Painting Titled ' Expression Series ' by Anurag Ranjan displayed in Chitrakala Parishath, Bengaluru.
Though I got a macro lens sometime back, I have not yet done any flower shots. For this shot too I did not have a macro handy but could not wait as yellow makes me go weak in my knees. (Am not sure if men are supposed to feel like that!)
A wide view at sunrise of the Tughluqabad Fort in New Delhi, India. This fort was built during 1321-23 AD. The colour & light changes from left to right and from foreground to background was what I liked about the frame. Also the night seemed to be giving one final stand to the spreading daylight before giving in. This was taken handheld with Nikon D300 at 1/200 sec, f/7.1, 18mm and ISO 200. The saturation setting in camera was at high.

Jeevan se lambe hain bandhu, yeh jeevan ke raste.
(Much longer than life, my dear; are these paths of life...)
By the famous Indian poet, Gulzar
This was taken in the parking lot of a mall in Rohini, New Delhi, India. The ominous effect was achieved accidently when I took the contrast to a very high level. My daughter who likes anything gothic, loved the look and I decided to keep it. To my surprise, this has become one of my most viewed photograph. This was taken on Nikon D300, 1/60 sec, f/6.3, 200mm and ISO 200.

Bridesmaids quickly gathering for the last few photographs before the sun sets on the Indian Ocean.
Winter is great time in India for many colourful flowers. Even the dried, dying ones, like the one captured here, have their own charm & warmth.
In this series, this is one of my favorite. A couple romancing in the rain while rest of us ran for the shelter.
I loved these flowers during my jungle hike at dawn in the mountains of Bhimtal, India. Don't even know the name of these half dried half alive flowers.
Another one from my visit to Qutub Archelogical Park in New Delhi, India. This does look like a surreal HDR but it is not. Just love the way the colour brings out the texture.

This was taken at sunset at the Bara Talao Lake in Bhopal, India. The golden colours are straight from the camera. The sun was just above the frame. From the far away hill where I was standing, this was really a mesmerising scene. The larger size view will convey what I am saying here. This was taken with Nikon D300 at 1/125 sec, f/36, 120mm and ISO 200
In India this phrase means "pulling a fast one" because your are doubling your money/stuff at a dishonest speed.

“O Pardesi” is a song from “Dev D” which can be translate by ‘hey stranger”.
This new and creative movie is a modern-day interpretation of the classic novel "Devdas" by Sarat Chandra, it is written and directed by Anurag Kashyap.
Dev, Paro and Chanda of Dev D reflect the sensibilities, conflicts aggression, and independence.
Free thought, exuberance and recklessness of the youth of today.

This picture was shot recently along the Ganges in Varanasi (Benaras).
The heat has became unbearable at this time of year and for many the only way to find some freshness is to take a deep in the holy waters.

Sep 13th, 2008. 5 bomb blasts in busy markets of New Delhi, India. More than 30 killed including young children, 100 injured. Cannot see an end to this madness. Even angels seem dumbstruck...
Instead of wasting your efforts and energy on that which cannot be changed or corrected, you should focus on that which can be created.

Taken at Rani ki Bawri (Pond of the Queen) at Qutub Archeological Park in New Delhi, India. These youngsters were more than happy to show their daredevil attitude by jumping from such great heights into an abandoned pond used by the royalty few hundred years back.
