Hello my amazing Flickr friends !
Today is an orange day at Color my World Daily and we have an awesome theme at Crazy Tuesday : Ant Point of View. Of course, Mr. Teddy Bear is with us to celebrate Happy Teddy Bear Tuesdays.
As you can see, eggs are huge while seen by an ant. If you are an ant, you have to be very careful since you are exactly like Mr. Teddy bear : a miniature in a giant world. On the other hand, you can be friends with a fly ! Apparently flies make awesome friends: always there even when you dont need them, buzzing over everything and nothing and apparently flies love food !! Any type of food. So they aren't picky eaters at all ! Yes, my friends, a fly on my egg was an inspiration for this ant view picture ….

As I posted My Blue World last time, I feel the need to share HER blue world this week. When I took the picture I didn't see the ant. Only when looking through the images on the computer did I notice her. She looks all snug and cosy in there.
Ants touch each other with their antennae when they meet. Each ant colony has a unique smell, so members recognize each other and sniff out intruders.
Another example of a natural symbiotic relationship. Ant's will protect Aphids from predators in exchange for a honeydew liquid that they excrete. It's called Aphid farming. Photographed in Maryland.

Some more experimenting with focus stacking of a black ant under my Nikon Labophot-2 microscope. Approximately 64 images were focus stacked together in Helicon Focus to create this image. The ant was photographed under side light with a 4x objective. I was impressed by how much fine detail was captured, especially in the eye, leg and antenna.
This is the "Dune Climb" at Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore. It's harder than it looks. After reaching the summit in this picture, another dune sits atop this one, then another atop that one (1024 feet at the top of the third climb, 312 meters)..
I borrowed my wifes (Unda J.M) Macro lens for this Ant running along the top of a moss covered wall, carrying what looks like someones old skin?
