I love roses. I have about 18 different varieties in my very small yard. I wanted to work from dark to light on this painting. So the background is black mixed with dark green. the front elements are all lighter. When I finished I thought it was too static hence the swirls ...

I wonder if it's true girl, Will we someday meet again ?
Will you give me your paw and will I gaze into your soleful eyes?
Will you cuddle by my side and lay your head upon my lap?
Will you sit patiently while I tell you all my childhood woes ?
Will you fetch so enthusiastically the sticks that life can toss?
Will we nap together again and snuggle through the thunder?
So I wonder if it's true girl, for I've seen you in dreams, will we meet again?

An Eagle was once captured by a man, who at once clipped his wings, and put him into his poultry-yard with the other birds; at which treatment the Eagle was weighed down with grief. Another neighbor having purchased him, suffered his feathers to grow again. The Eagle took flight, and pouncing upon a hare brought it at once as an offering to his benefactor. A Fox, seeing this, exclaimed, “Do not propitiate the favour of this man, but of your former owner, lest he should again hunt for you, and deprive you a second time of your wings.”
Dad's Father's Day gift.
Cheetahs are not the easiest of the big cats to draw in profile due to their long flat heads, short muzzles and low set ears. The proportions always look wrong!

A Sailor, bound on a long voyage, took with him a Monkey to amuse him while on shipboard. As he sailed off the coast of Greece, a violent tempest arose, in which the ship was wrecked, and he, his Monkey, and all the crew were obliged to swim for their lives. A Dolphin saw the Monkey contending with the waves, and supposing him to be a man (whom he is always said to befriend), came and placed himself under him, to convey him on his back in safety to the shore. When the Dolphin arrived with his burden in sight of land not far from Athens, he demanded of the Monkey if he were an Athenian, who replied that he was, and that he was descended from one of the most noble families in that city. He then inquired if he knew the Piraeus (the famous harbor of Athens). The Monkey, supposing that a man was meant, answered, that he knew him very well, and that he was an intimate friend. The Dolphin, indignant at these falsehoods, dipped the Monkey under the water, and drowned him.
Deep in the ocean inside the belly of a seahorse, if you look closely you might find something quite strange. They're all a bit different, of course, but inside this particular creature there is a lovely prairie where the sun is shining down upon a herd of horses. Free to roam and never lacking in space, these horses never have a want for anything.
