New addition. Love it. People in the suburbs hang these metal flowers upon their backyard fences. Me, I hang mine on my apartment walls, and, as of today, now own ten of them. And that metal piece surrounding the flower, I found one afternoon walking home from work. It's really cool looking.
I've actually found quite a few nice pieces walking home from work, one of which was an elongated wooden coffee table made of walnut wood, no blemishes, perfect condition, which I proceeded to carry across 4 avenues, then up the 4 flights to my apartment. Some things you just shouldn't ignore

This photo came about after I had enjoyed a wonderful lunch at "Bread N Wine", this awesome hole-in-the-wall restaurant situated along Lexington Avenue at 92nd St, in New York City. They've amazing food, offer 1/2 sandwiches, have great salads, and delicious soups. Their staff is also wonderful and very laid back, and magically appear when needed. Live music too some evenings. N and I had specifically picked this venue for our lunch, and walked the 30-blocks there from her apartment. Following lunch, I walked across town to Central Park and wandered around its Reservoir, during which time I took this photo, which perfectly matched the essence of my afternoon.

Per Wikipedia:
In 1994 the reservoir was renamed in honor of Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis to commemorate her many contributions to the city (which included helping to save Grand Central Terminal from demolition and helping to restore it as an architectural landmark, protesting against proposed structures that would have marred Central Park's beauty, and serving as a board member of the Municipal Art Society). Furthermore, she enjoyed jogging in the area, and the windows of her apartment at 1040 Fifth Avenue overlooked the reservoir.

Concrete pumping is a specialized technique used in the construction industry to move freshly mixed concrete from a ready-mix* truck to the placement area. This process utilizes hydraulic power to transport concrete through a system of pipes and hoses, significantly simplifying the logistics of concrete placement compared to traditional methods like wheelbarrows or crane-lifted buckets.
(*) Ready-mix concrete is concrete that is manufactured in a batch plant and delivered to the job site ready to use. It is ideal for large patios, driveway renovation, pool decks, home foundation slabs, parking lots, and new sidewalk construction.

I caught a glimpse of a shady character inside the jail house in Pinoeertown while I was trying to take a photo of this old west building. The entire town used to be a movie set for western movies in the past. It 's quite interesting to look around.
We had a little break from the storm this afternoon. So I went out and did some walk during lunch hour. The low hanging clouds above the East Bay hills had presented good photo opportunities.
Damp night in the neighbourhood, the first day of December 2018. The year is coming to its end damn fast...
Taken with my new Xiaomi Mi 8 smartphone. Wide-angle lens, default camera app, on full auto mode - this is almost straight out of the camera, no editing except cropping it to cinematic 2.39:1 aspect and some levels tweaking. Not bad for a mid-range phone, I'm sure my old DSLR wouldn't be able to match this image quality, regardless of the lens.
Just so y'all know

Part 3 in an ongoing series of stuff that's in my bag when I travel. I always travel with carry on, but it's a bit of a cheat as I have a huge Briggs and Riley case that I can stuff enough in for a week or more away and it goes in the overhead. Anyhooooo...this is but a small selection on day 3 in Hongkers (always Hongkers). Up early. Phone calls and Skype home done, all bright eyed and brushy tailed after a second surprisingly good night of sleep. Ready for meetings but still got another hour before I leave so what else to do but shoot this ... enjoy!

I took a photo of this Victorian house earlier this morning and posted to my social media account in order to showcase the fall colors in our area. Comments from my friends started pouring in. As I applied HDR effect to this photo emphasizing the moody sky, one of my friends helped to add more spooky effect to it. This is the image as a result of our collaboration. I know, we are getting closer to Halloween.

My Alternate Health Care Proxy recommends:
I know you're looking forward to being able to walk the neighborhood and take your pictures. I would strongly suggest that you let the winter pass by and begin that next spring. Don't challenge the cold by putting yourself out there and hopefully if you get started in the spring, you'll go through the spring and into the summer, and you'll be in a better position for next winter.
Duly noted. This is the absolute reason why I chose this individual, both my principal and my alternate Health Care Proxies, as they are down-to-earth people and tell it like it is.

New York City winters are no joking matter, as they can be balmy one day, and bitterly cold the next, rainy and windy the following, then there's a blizzard, or worse, a Nor'easter. This upcoming winter season is forecasted to be record-breaking.
I'll be catching up on a lot of reading. As well as use my apartment as a creative Muse.

I 've been told somewhere behind that hill lies the San Andreas fault. There are quite a bit of crazy rock formations in this canyon near the town Mecca, CA. I need to come back here to explore a bit more. We made a short cut through this rugged canyon to the Salton Sea from Joshua Tree NP. The canyon itself is quite unique reminding me of the landscape in Death Valley.
Got a great deal on Madame Butterfly during its Black Friday sale. It turned out to be a tragic story. But I liked the venue and performance.

Location
On The High Line at 24th Street
Giulia Cenci creates elaborate sculptures and installations by fusing industrial elements and organic forms, arranging them into jarring compositions that invite viewers to question human’s relationship with nature. Cenci’s work features animals, plants, and human appendages cast from melted-down scrap metal, reusing found objects, agricultural tools, old machinery, and car parts. These seemingly disparate elements are then hung, suspended, or pierced together like pieces of meat, morphing into a wild habitat void of hierarchy—where a human bone is treated with the same care as the branch of a tree or a wolf’s face.
