When it comes to photography many times I can be unconventional, in that why must one point a camera down at something, or level with a subject. Why even look through the viewfinder at all? Why not just take a photo from the ground up, or from within the branches of a flowering shrub for that matter

The more you know
Many birds intentionally sit close together because it makes them a much more difficult target for predators -- lots more lookouts, no way to sneak up on them.

This photo was taken on July 30, 2022. I had just past my 1-year anniversary off cigarettes, in addition it was also my 6th month alcohol free. Beginning of great stuff.
I had quit each of those vices as a gift to myself for my 60th Birthday, which had been on August 16, 2022. After I had taken this photo, I proceeded to take this amazingly long walk through Long Island City into Sunnyside. I remember the day exactly, as I'd taken so many amazing photos

New Rendering Revealed For 29-15 40th Road in Long Island City, Queens
newyorkyimby.com/2024/04/new-rendering-revealed-for-29-15...
A new rendering has been revealed for 29-15 40th Road, an upcoming 12-story residential building in Long Island City, Queens. Few details have been made public about the project, which is being designed by Fogarty Finger Architects and developed by SB Development, which also acquired the adjacent lot at 29-13 40th Road for $8.7 million last fall.
Over the past year I have been taking this one same shot almost every weekday, mostly in the morning.

This plot was to have been a 17 story hotel, though as with many sites there was either a stop work order, or the deal fell through completely.

I feel how this section of Long Island City is on the brink of blasting off on the super sonic gentrification rocket, as the LIC BID expanded into this area, and the building pace will increase significantly in 2026.
