The Pickens Benton job has done its work interchanging with the Greenville and Western and is back headed west towards Anderson with a healthy cut of boxcars.
Built in the 1880’s, sailors would put the name of their ship along with the date on the building to mark their safe arrival to Ephraim.
Now, visitors can still put their name on the building whether you arrive from land or water. If we ever get to that area again, we plan on doing so!
The Anderson Hollow Lighthouse in Harvey Bank, New Brunswick, Canada. Established in 1889, the current lighthouse was built in 1903.
The rolling hills of Anderson Valley in Northern California... The light has begun to feel like Autumn and the trees are just beginning to turn.
A portrait of my oldest grandson, Anderson - taken just yesterday. I am always amazed at the sophistication and complexity of my grandchildren (all 5 of them ages 7 -12). They are adorable and provocative, vulnerable and strong, insatiable learners and powerful teachers - all at once. They make me strive to be the best me when I am around them and I am utterly dedicated to them all.
(Pro tip: if you want to develop your photography 'chops' try and take good photos of your grandchildren as they grow; they are very challenging subjects that will demand you use every technique and skill you have learned to-date and then make you go back to the drawing board to learn some more.)
A few other photos of Anderson can be viewed in the first comment box below - the first from when he was only days old snoozing on my chest right on up until now - on the threshold of being a teenager.

The reservoir is on the South Fork of the Boise River and is contained by an earth rock=fill dam. The South Fork of the Boise River originates in the Smoky Mountains north of Fairfield Idaho. Its watershed includes portions of the Smoky Mountains, Soldier Mountains, Boise and Sawtooth National Forests. Below the dam, the South Fork flows into Arrowrock Reservoir.
This was my second choice image for the Leading Questions project with Clipper. I really like this shot but felt that the humor of the first shot suited him better.

The Anderson job pulls a small cut of cars for interchange with Norfolk Southern. Once it clears the switch, it will make a reverse move to set off the cars and finish the day's work. Pickens Railroad. Anderson, SC. June 25, 2021.
The Anderson Hollow Lighthouse in Harvey, New Brunswick, Canada. Originally built in 1889 and located in Waterside, N.B., it was destroyed in 1902 and rebuilt in 1903. It was later moved to its current location.

A real treat this morning was finding the Arthur M. Anderson on the north side of Dock 1 in Two Harbors taking on a load of blast furnace trim (crushed raw taconite). This time of year there is only a few hours of good morning sun on this side of the dock. Use of the north side has been sporadic in recent years.
The Anderson Bridge was opened in 1910 and provided a critical link between the civic and commercial districts in Singapore's Downtown area.
The bridge comprises three steel arches with supporting steel ribs extending across them, two rusticated archways and a fluted pier at each end.
Only one side of the bridge is now used for vehicles, with developments undertaken in the last few years closing one side.
The bridge also forms a narrow section of the Marina Bay Street Circuit.
Taken along Anderson Valley California. Well known for its many vineyards. About 18 of them in fact. So many opportunities for wine tasting were passed up for photography instead. This can only mean one thing - another return trip!
...as if we are on a first name basis, hah! But what was he doing on 127th street? "Going to visit friends" Hmmmmmm! Not a bad place to have friends.
Suzanne took this stunning photograph. I was too embarassed to use my flash ... or my battery was running out quickly.
