I have another star in my sky, I lost my dearest mother-in-law the first of January. She was a remarkable person, an incredible woman, mother, grandmother and grand grandmother. She will always be in my heart.

Every sunset is different and every time I am amazed at how beautiful and varied these are. This image, and especially the left side of the photo, gave me the impression of having made an image of almost another planet.
Too many fantasies? Could be, but Mother Nature makes them almost tangible.

A last minute dash to use that spectacular sunset sky lead me to Ratcliffe on Soar power station and the A453, the light trails complimenting the sky quite well

Am I too high or they’re just too low?
Will the rain pour or will the sun will just light on it?
This is how life is exciting!
Why waste a second if you can enjoy it!

Bursts of gold on lavender melting into saffron. It's the time of day when the sky looks like it has been spray-painted by a graffiti artist.

I had a very busy time away visiting family, and didn't have time to get my camera out till the end, but got a couple of shots on the ferry going home in the evening. Things are still busy so I'm guessing I'm going to be off and on for a bit.
I will do my best to get to your most recent images :) Missed you!
This is INSANITY.
Basically called it this because the lightning strikes I think look insane!
I didn't plan this shot/shots of lightning. I was looking out the window at home to see if there was going to be a good looking sunset, but it was getting really dense, dark clouds rolling in so I thought id give it a miss. but then I went out to the car a hour later and there was a massive crack right above my head. That was pretty much it. when I see lightning I'm out. I ran and grabbed my gear and was on the road. I made a call not to go beachside this time because I was following the directions of the strikes and they were heading south easterly inland. I pulled up near the freeway to an overpass and decided to get a 2 in 1 shot of some light trails and lightning. It was the best i could do with the timing and situation i was in. This image is a 4 image stack. I will be uploading some of the single image strikes over the next few days when I get around to it. I was considering uploading this one last, but I couldn't bring myself to do that. hope enjoy your viewing as much as I enjoyed taking the shot :)
Feel free to tell me what you think.

This is a 4 image stitched long exposure panoramic. Was a ripper of a sunset, and a nice change from the crazy weather we have been having in Melbourne!
one of the last shot I got from a storm back in November 2015... pretty much uploading this one due to the constant disappointment we have been having with our sever thunderstorm warnings. nothing has eventuated the past 4 times there has been warnings. disappointing! This is just to remind me to keep trying.
