Hi everyone! This is what it looks like when I am planning my photography shoots and projects. Often at times its late into the night so the only light source comes from my lamp and my monitor (I don't like using my room light because it uses to much electricity). I look through books and magazines to draw some inspiration and use my notebook to write down any ideas.
I took this shot with the camera suspended on a ladder pointing straight down. The camera was triggered with a remote and the only lighting used was from my desk lamp.
Gear used:
- Sony a350 with Tamron 17-50mm 2.8 lens attached
- remote cable
- tripod
Former site of MGM (Metro Goldwyn Mayer Studios) lot #5. In the early 1970s MGM sold off the lot and it was turned into a shopping center with an Alpha Beta Supermarket. It operated as an Alpha Beta Supermarket until around 1992/1993 when the Parent Company of Boys Supermarkets took over the Ralphs Grocery Company. Yucaipa Company was the name of the parent organization. The Boys had acquired parts of the Alpha Beta Chain years earlier. After the merger of the Boys Chain with the Ralphs chain, they combined all their Supermarkets into two divisions: Ralphs and Food 4 Less. This store became a Ralphs Supermarket. Located at the intersection of Jefferson and Overland in Culver City.

The Contaflex Alpha and Contaflex Beta, both introduced in 1957, were based on the same body but equipped with a Zeiss Pantar 45mm f:2.8 three-element lens and a Prontor Reflex shutter up to 1/300. They were the cheaper models of the line. The Alpha had no meter and the Beta had the selenium meter of the II and IV.
The front element of the lens could be interchanged with others for 30mm f:4 and 75mm f:4. These could also be used on the Contina III 35mm viewfinder camera.

Special Collections Research Center (SCRC) staff and student assistants are working on a project to rehouse and improve the description of artifacts in the SCRC's collections. They have already done a lot of great work and are just about done working on the University Archives Artifact Collection's t-shirts. These t-shirts are more completely described in the SCRC Collections Database at scrc.swem.wm.edu/index.php?p=collections/controlcard&..., but you can get an idea of the breadth of items in the collection through the images here.
See scrc.swem.wm.edu/findingaid.php?id=6624 for more information about items in the University Archives Artifact Collection.

Alpha is a mature grey timber wolf (12 years old). He's a retired movie industry wolf and now lives on a piece of the Grouse Mountain property (at the base of the mountain) with 1 other white male wolf who is very old at 15 years (Omega). The third wolf died just a few months back. Timber wolves live anywhere from 13-15 years old. I wonder what will happen to Alpha when Omega passes on? Wolves typically live in packs.
