Peaceful Bokeh Wednesday
I 'd just pruned the overgrown aloe in my garden, so I took a picture of the cut aloe.
I took it with a composition that made into a stormy sea.
The inflorescence of my kitchen window ledge aloe (Aloe aristata) has finally hit the ceiling (it's a low ceiling). This is a montage of 4 shots with the 100mm macro lens to get the whole height of the plant into the pic.

The gardens now have almost 400 varieties out of a total 550 in the aloe family.

It's an aloe flower. (Now somebody will come along and tell me it's something else)

Abstract of an Aloe plant by focusing on its shadow instead of its leaves. It is lit by 4 precisely positioned halogen bulbs, equally separated. I heard it is also called sometime a kitchen light fixture, but hey, that doesn't sound as cool... I really like the repetition and the pattern created by the different amount of shadows intersecting simultaneously ( 4,3,2,1 in order)

Aloe maculata (algemeen bekend als de zebraloë of zeepaloë) is een uit Zuid-Afrika afkomstige vetplant die in Portugal volledig is ingeburgerd (genaturaliseerd). De plant is oorspronkelijk als tuinplant geïntroduceerd, maar vermeerdert zich inmiddels zelfstandig in de vrije natuur.
Aloe maculata (commonly known as the zebra aloe or soap aloe) is a succulent native to South Africa that has become fully naturalized in Portugal. The plant was originally introduced as a garden plant, but it now reproduces on its own in the wild.

I quite like Aloes, their flowers are pretty, and their fleshy bushes produce a gooey gel that has wonderous medicinal qualities. Every garden should have at least one Aloe, a natural medicine chest whose flowers attract the birds and bees.

Aloe lateritia is an acaulescent, succulent Aloe species. Its glossy leaves are light green, becoming brown-green in the sun. Aloe lateritia var. lateritia occurs across the whole of Tanzania. It also extends into southern Kenya, and the far northern tip of Malawi. Aloe lateritia var. graminicola occurs to the north, in the grasslands of western Kenya.
It's not used in any lotions of medicines that I could find. Btw, as you'll see within the next 24 hours, it also comes in orange. However, before you ask your local nursery about it, the flowers are pretty, but the stems and leaves leave much to be desired which is why they're called "leaves."
