... We will come and go, in the forest
In the summer rain, we will meet again
We will learn the code of the ancient ones
In the forest ...
(Van Morrison - In the Forest)
the Azores islands in Mid-Atlantic are one of a few other places besides Japan itself, where these amazing Japanese Cypress (Cryptomeria japonica) forests are casting their enchanting spell. The colour of their evergreen needles is almost a deep emerald while they turn a deep rusty orange when dying. Add to this very frequent and generous rainfall and you get a forest interior like this here in Reserva do Cabouco on the island of Faial near the crater of an extinct volcano (Caldeira).
Happy Tree-mendous Tuesday!

My tulips have lasted what seems like a long time, 10 days. I think I'll be throwing them out today as they have seen better days! So, here's one last shot of them before they do.

In the sweetness of friendship let there be laughter, and sharing of pleasures.
For in the dew of little things the heart finds its morning and is refreshed.

Climb the mountains and get their good tidings. Nature's peace will flow into you as sunshine flows into trees. The winds will blow their own freshness into you... while cares will drop off like autumn leaves.

My week has started off quite green, so I'm going to continue that theme throughout the week.
I probably should wait until it all turns green outside, but I guess this will make it more of a challenge!
3/7 - All things green 💚 Today's shot is a little bit of green from my front garden! No idea what these plants are, but they look like mini cabbages.
(also trying out new Lightroom presets, I will find my style one day 😉)
Our rural ancestors, with little blest,
Patient of labour when the end was rest,
Indulged the day that housed their annual grain,
With feasts, and off'rings, and a thankful strain.

Thank You Alana
There's lots of things
With which I'm blessed,
My problems have been few,
But of all, this one's the best:
To have a friend like you.
In times of trouble
Friends will say,
"Just ask, I'll help you through it."
But you don't wait for me to ask,
You just get up and do it!
And I can think
of nothing more
That I could wisely do,
Than know a friend,
And be a friend,
And have a friend like you.

Nice day in Vrinnevi Forest, exploring some new areas I haven't really seen before. Really liked it! Sadly, I can't seem to take a decent photo anymore. I don't understand what's wrong with me! Maybe it's just tricky with harsh, bright sunlight and the over-exposure. I don't know. Maybe I just suck! :D Can't rule that out!
Great walk in the forests around Rambodal. Despite it being proper autumn weather... Really didn't feel like June is just a few days away. Oh well!
Me and a friend took a nice little stroll around our local forest. Even though there's so much beauty everywhere, I still find it hard to actually capture it. It's an odd feeling. It was a nice walk though and that's enough sometimes!
Season of mists and mellow fruitfulness! Close bosom-friend of the maturing sun; Conspiring with him how to load and bless With fruit the vines that round the thatch-eaves run; To bend with apples the moss'd cottage trees, And fill all fruit with ripeness to the core.

Took a little daytrip to Getåravinen with my sister today. Lovely day, but as usual I struggled to get any decent photos. :D

Romance like a ghost escapes touching; it is always where you are not, not where you are. The interview or conversation was prose at the time, but it is poetry in the memory.

Make a memory with your children,
Spend some time to show you care;
Toys and trinkets can't replace those
Precious moments that you share.
Money doesn't buy real pleasure,
It doesn't matter where you live;
Children need your own attention,
Something only you can give.
Childhood's days pass all too quickly,
Happy memories all too few;
Plan to do that special something,
Take the time to go or do.
Make a memory with your children,
Take the time in busy days;
Have some fun while they are growing,
Show your love in gentle ways.
