This is another look at the doll flying off the cliff problem. In this case, no numbers are given, but the solution is the same. We end up with an equation for how far any horizontal projectile launched from a height h will go. Note that the process is the same: solve one of the two equations for time, plug it into the other. Time is the bridge.

 

An important thing to note here is that the only variable here (assuming we're on earth, and g=9.8m/s²) is height. So time of flight for a horizontal projectile depends on the height of the object.

 

For the doll demo, every single time I do it the x part is different. The doll goes different speeds each time.

 

But the y part is always the same. The bench is always the same height, so the doll always is in the air for the same amount of time.

The algebra is an expression which is used to designate the value for the given values in the expression. The expression might be depending on the values assigned to the values assigned in the expression. The expression is the syntactic concept in the algebra. VIII Grade AlgebraFriends today we all are going to start our eighth grade mathematics and I am going to discuss about Algebra section. Before proceeding further let's talk about the basic concepts of Algebra. Algebra is a very vast area of study of mathematics which almost covers 90 percent of mathematics. In simple mathematical manner we can say that it is a branch of mathematics which deals with the study of the rules of operations and relations. Equation term can be explained as a mathematical expressions which shows the equality of two expressions. For example b + z = 6. In most general manner we can say that any combination of literal symbols and numbers that results from algebraic operations (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, raising to a power, and extracting a root) are called as Algebraic equations. The two most important types of such Algebraic equations are linear equations which is written in the form y = mx + b, and quadratic equations that can be represented in the form y = ax2 + bx + c. In general Algebraic equations are useful for modeling real life phenomena.

Solve fifth grade algebra using PEMDAS Friends, today I am going to discuss about fifth standard mathematics topics like variables, equations etc. Students may understand how to perform basic math functions like subtraction, addition, division, decimals etc. But another possibility is that students might not know how to put all the functions together to solve a complex equation. If students start doing tasks in random manner or in improper manner then students can end up with completely incorrect results or answers. Whenever students opt to sole equations, they just remember the mnemonic device that is “ M-DAS,” which refers to Maths, Division, Addition and Subtraction.

 

So, I can't stand school. Can't wait to graduate! May 19th and I am OUTTA THERE! :) But if anyone needs some college algebra notes...There ya go :)

I had a Linear Algebra prelim today. If you don't already know, I absolutely ABHOR math and Linear Algebra in particular. This prelim further cemented that feeling. It's done though - all that's left is the final and hopefully it will be out of my life forever!
