There is a sign that says "Please Do Not Open The Window." Alas, I wrangled a boy to help me open it anyway in order to get my shot.

My favourite part of the process was almost dropping my phone out the third floor window, laughing, as he got nervous, illegally holding the window open, and shouted, "Any day now Princess!"

Hipstamatic is a great iPhone app for stylized photos but the combination of lenses and film is a bit overwhelming. These contact sheets should prove useful in helping you decide which film and lens type to load. The images were purposely taken using a high contrast setting.

Note that none of these used any of the special flashes, which adds yet another layer of complexity.

Contact sheets using these films have been created for these lenses:

This was the best part of my day.

Breakfast: blackberry, raspberry, and blueberry coffeecake. The berries were so fresh that the juices leaked into the cake and stained my fingers. I had to lick them clean.

Then the day got bad.

Silence is something you can't hide. Nothing has been said, yet so many words have filled my head.

Now they completely surround me

I love the combination of Alfred Infrared Film and the Robot Glitter Lens in Hipstamatic. :D

“In order to have friendship you must look past the color to the soul, because within the soul lies a rainbow of many colors.”

If only people understood that our physical bodies are temporary vehicles....

"In the Civil War-era village nestled behind Miller Park are three of Milwaukee's oldest and most architecturally significant buildings. Today, nailed across their entrances are signs that read, 'Building Closed - Do Not Enter,' in bold red letters.

Those signs may not mean the end for the buildings, but time is running short.

I came early to have breakfast with my nephew before he went home. Suddenly I stepped on something soft, furry, and small. A scream escaped my throat. I thought it was a rodent of some sort until I looked down and saw Squirrel.

Squirrel is V's toy. V is the beastly half-tailed cat in the bottom half of the picture. Her voice sounds like an old smoker's and she carries Squirrel around, dropping her in various doorways as if she hunted it herself. Squirrel no longer has eyes. V is a brute.

O little

emperor without a realm,

conqueror without a homeland,

diminutive parlor tiger, nuptial

sultan of heavens

roofed in erotic tiles:

when you pass

in rough weather

and poise

four nimble paws

on the ground,

sniffing,

suspicious

of all earthly things

(because everything

feels filthy

to the cat's immaculate paw),

you claim

the touch of love in the air.

O freelance household

beast, arrogant

vestige of night,

lazy, agile

and strange,

O fathomless cat,

secret police

of human chambers

and badge

of burnished velvet!

They spread these ads for the new Beetle over several posters. Here the subway is arriving in the station with the Beetle poster in front. I think a B&W combination might have worked better here.

Inspired by a friend, Cara Gallardo Weil.

27th July 2011 - I was driving so many kilometres today and when I got home I was so thirsty that I finished several glasses of water instantly and it felt really good.

Even now, when skin is not alone,

it remembers being alone and thanks something larger

that there are travelers, that people go places

larger than themselves.

After a traumatic head injury one is, apparently, very lucky that this is not how one sees the world.
