Taken from a parking lot at Huntington Metro Station.

A northbound Richmond, Fredericksburg & Potomac intermodal train approaches the intermodal facility at Potomac Yard. The Washington Monument is on the center horizon, while the U.S. capitol is on the right. Potomac Yard, once the gateway to the South, has since been eliminated, with the entire area full of condos.

Super Pink Moon!

My Entry of For the Summer Joust 2022, African category, It represents the lake Mareotis ( called Mariout nowadays) with one of the city walls of Alexandria in the back. The lake had canals that would fill from water coming out of the nile.

I tried to be accurate, forgive me if I am not.

Position: Alexandria Port is one of the oldest ports in the world. Alexandria port consists of two harbours (East and West) separated by a T-shaped peninsula. The East harbour is shallow and is not navigable by large vessels. The West harbour is used for commercial shipping. The harbour is formed by two converging breakwaters. The City of Alexandria is located at the west end of River Nile between the Mediterranean Sea and Lake Mariot. It is the second most important city and the main port in Egypt. On the right side is Mosque of Ibn Khaldoun.

East Coast flooding is prevalent throughout these days. This was taken on Monday here in Alexandria after six inches of rain fell over the weekend.

Of course, now the Carolinas are suffering thanks to the current rains of Florence. I know what it's like to have your house flooded. I am praying for the Carolinas.

More from Alexandria for the moment. It is one of the more foreign areas around here to me and I've only really skirted the edges of it. So definitely more to come in the future too.

Gouache on 8x10x2 Stillman & Birn Sketchbook

Sketched live on location from 3:54 PM to 4:17 PM

During a sketching event in Highland Park an illustrator came over and chatted with me. We made arrangements to meet again and this time at Joy restaurant. To my very pleasant surprise Dav suggested we sketch. So sketch we did and I got the perfect scene and models right in front of me.
