This year I started to reach out to people whom I've admired for a long time and ask if I could take their portrait.
Jennifer Kimball is a singer/songwriter who was a member of the band "The Story" in the early 1990's. She was in "The Story" with another singer I just recently photographed, Jonatha Brooke.
I'm not sure how it worked out that I was able to photograph both of them in the same week. It was amazing.
Jennifer is working with another musician I've worked with in the past. When I learned of this connection, I reached out to that mutual friend and asked if he thought Jennifer might be receptive if I reached out to her.
So I did.
She said yes.
She spent the day with me at the studio. We took things organically. I got to just play around, which is always refreshing.
I started the session very nervous, and ended the session with a new friend.
I was able to meet and work with Jennifer through the power of photography. It's amazing.

This wedding was in Murray Bridge South Australia. The bride and groom were such lovely people. They were such a joy to work with and made our day such a pleasure. Photograft wishes them the best in their married life.

If dreams could come true ... Led Zeppelin's remaining members have gone into the studio with John Bonham's son, Jason to record existing songs. The album is called Defy It
For this album cover for the talented Ben Freeman, I wanted to represent visually what the title, Hope and Faith Collide, suggests- an abstract collision of these two powerful forces. That power inspired the use of vibrant colors and the suggestion of two different planes meeting together.

In 2020 right before Covid-19 shut down the country I worked with singer/songwriter Liz Simmons on photography for her first solo cd in almost 15 years, "POETS".
Unsure of how to share the images that went into the package design, I wrote a detailed blog post that covers our session and the design/layout for the album.

I wanted a nice, minimal look and feel for this album documenting my first 5k's. The album will be 8x8, and will include the Circle the City for the Symphony 5k and the Race Away from Domestic Violence 5k.

One of the dual CD/DVD releases for Chuck D's record label Slamjamz. Each release came in either DVD or Jewel Case packaging and came with a CD and a DVD.

Another two page spread from the aforementioned album; this time, a tryptich, featuring the most formidable skater Brandon. I know, the ambient light could be a little brighter. If only I had taken these shots maybe 20 minutes earlier... Hey, btw, I love all of you guys here on flickr. You're like extended family to me. However, I never really hear any constructive criticism of my work, or of anybody else's for that matter. It's all very nice, and I'm guilty of the same thing. I don't really want to tell someone that there's something, well, wrong with their photographs. This is really hard to do. But I think as photographers and as artists, we can grow so much more if there were real and constructive criticism of our work. If something is 'not right' with any of my pictures you all are hereby encouraged to tell me. I am extending an 'open door policy' to you. There will be no retribution for your critical analysis. In fact, I welcome it. Thanks to all!
I just got this album in... I had it printed at WHCC with the metallic custom cover... it looks great! way better in person... so subtle and classy and simple.
