The 747 and 757 Airlink services of Dublin Bus will not be returning and have ceased permanently due to the impact of Covid 19 since March 2020 and the service is no longer financially viable, 80 years of heritage going back to DUTC and CIE have come to sad but inevitable end. Lothian Buses bought 15 ADL Enviro400 XLB bodied buses into service replacing the Wright Eclipse Gemini 3's for their flagship Airport Service 100, known as Airlink.
In late 2022, this bus was given the Lothian Buses standard livery but still retained the "Contactless Payments Accepted" vinyl the top of the bus.
A total of 78 Volvo B8L bodied Enviro400 XLB's were ordered and put into service from November 2018 to April 2019 (May be a few exceptions.)
All 77 Enviro400 XLB's are currently operated by Central Depot (CE) as they have always done so far in their lives.
These buses have 100 seats and can hold up to 126 passengers (Including standing positions) which is great for shuttle buses which attract lots of people, e.g. the Rugby games.
