Another day, another country on my InterRail trip, still the same cloudy weather.
The Potez 840 in the background is F-BMCY.

Air France Air Inter Express livery.
c/n 7003, only the third CRJ built. It had a short life, delivered in 1993, scrapped in 2006.
This Caravelle served with Air Inter but not in these colours which came later. Fences prevent a good photo from this side but the sun at least catches the colour scheme.

After arrival at Edinburgh from Orly, positioning in to return French rugby fans following the Scotland v. France International on the previous day.
Dark sky, this was a day of frequent heavy rain showers.
Seen at the Musée Delta Athis Paray Aviation Orly in 2009:- Concorde 02 F-WTSA, later painted with British Airways colours, Air Inter Dassault Mercure F-BTTJ marked as "F-ARIT" on left side for "Association des Retraités d'Air Inter" and Caravelle 6N F-BVPZ with museum titles. Update:Now known forward fuselage of the Mercure went to Baarlo and the Caravelle is still on a circular pan used for fire service training.(Google Earth 2019 image).
Rare visitor to Heathrow
One of the eleven Dassault Mercures that Air Inter operated from 1975 until 1995 - seen here about to lift off from runway 28R at Heathrow. Photo snatched from the top level of either Car Park 1A or Car Park 3.
<b<A rare bird at Heathrow :) Only twelve Mercures were built, including two prototypes, and Air Inter was the only operator. They already looked out of date by the time I took this photograph, but as mentioned above, they continued flying with the airline well into the 1990s. I have no idea what a Mercure was doing visiting Heathrow - the only one I ever saw there! [See helpful comments below]
F-BTTF c/n 006 - Mercure 100 - was delivered new to Air Inter in November 1974 and flew with the airline for its entire life until 1995. The aircraft was withdrawn and stored at Merignac Airport, Bordeaux for possible preservation? More on the Dassault Mercure here: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dassault_Mercure
Taken with a Soviet made Zenith E camera and 300mm lens.
