I don't know why I am smiling like a dork in this one. Took it over the weekend when I had the worst toothache ever. Between reading articles on the computer and napping, I took this shot. (I kind of neglect the shaving thing on Sundays. Hey! At least I bothered to put clothes on! Lol!)
Submitted to the 2nd Contest in the Immaterially Focused Group.
Theme: Addiction/ Obsession
This could have been better but I had to be sneaky and not get caught. There is no way I would be able to try and create this moment again. Hope my boyfriend doesn't notice this....
I took my littles to Chuck E. Cheese while my big ones were in Portland for the Coldplay concert. Perry was totally addicted.
A cab driver took us on a tour of one of Cali's roughest districts where I was fortunate enough to have this fellow stop and let me photograph him. This area looks like a war zone complete with police bunkers and large pot holes everywhere!
A lot of drug addicts use basuco which is the deadliest illegal drug ever invented, it can destroy the life of a youngster in less than two years. Basuco is the bagasse or residue left after extracting cocaine base.
Basuco contains sodium hydroxide, a strong caustic which destroys skin and mucous tissues; it also contains petroleum residues such as red gasoline blends with xylene and toluene, that destroy liver ; white cement, insecticides with high levels of arsenic affecting gastric and respiratory mucosal; solvents such as acetone and others, sulfuric acid, which destroys any organic tissue, benzoic acid, amphetamine, lidocaine, caustic soda, herbicides, crushed brick, lead, potassium permanganate, chloride and others. Basuco is the dirtiest psychoactive substance that runs in Colombia and the chemicals used for its manufacture are of very poor quality.

I seriously should start working for powergenix.
If you are using any type of flash device using AA batteries, might as well order a few sets of these. After spending hundreds of dollars on the name brand powergenix smart chargers and NiMh AA cells, I've been converted into using these. 1.6V, extremely fast recharge time, easy to charge, CHEAP, and they are eco friendly (green....literally).
I've used several battery packs to help flash time recycle, but after using these, they recharge a full 580ex in two seconds (same speed as with all my battery packs). If you haven't tried them out, do so!
setup:
1dmk3 + tamron 28-75
two 300w/s strobes in 24x24" softboxes staggered
batteries on black acrylic plexi glass
