I'm alone at home for 2 weeks. I'm really sad because I miss my mom and I'm feeling so lonely, so I started to try to distract myselfe and 'created' this background and I took a few pictures.
I just love Spring - my favourite season with the emergence of so many of my most favourite flowers. I have taken some shots of this blossom in our garden most days this week and today used my macro lens to try and capture a really soft dreamy capture. the breeze did not help but amongst all the throwaways I found this one!

"The lights are on
But you're not home
Your mind...is not your own
Your heart sweats
Your body shakes
Another kiss...is all it takes
You can't sleep
You can't eat
There's no doubt...you're in deep
Your throat is tight
You can't breathe
Another kiss...is all you need
Ohh you like to think that
You're immune to the stuff
Oh yeah...
It's closer to the truth
To say you can't get enough
You're gonna have to face it
You're addicted to love..."

As I look back on much of my work I can see that I have a tendency to alter reality. Hey, I was raised on Walt Disney so that’s my excuse. I was one of those kids in the seventies who had a black light in my room and the posters to go with it. It’s just cool to look at. I remember back when I was a kid, having a color TV was a VERY big deal! I know I’m dating myself here, but I remember it well! I think my dad was the last holdout in the neighborhood to purchase one. After all, our black and white TV worked juuuust fine. Even though we needed pliers to turn the channel.
I recall being at a friends house and watching “’The Wonderful World of Color’ on their new color TV. That was one of the coolest moments in my childhood. All those splashes of color coming out of Tinkerbell’s wand! I was HOOKED on color! I admit it! I would sneak over to a friends house to watch Wizard of Oz… and cartoons? Forget about it, I’m there!
So forgive my tendency to occasionally take the pliers and turn the knob on the reality dial. It’s the kid in me.
Skimming through one of the weekend papers this morning and I was reading an article about social networks. This particular one was about Facebook and mainly about the dangers for kids and young adults.
I picked this particular section to highlight because of the fact that it states that the time spent on these sites has soared to 6 hours a week ... well I bump up the average because I can spend that amount of time on various social sites or at least socialising online for that period in a single day.
Yes, I know it's sad but I enjoy it and in the past I'd have sat down and watched TV so now I log on and talk to my friends.
Their other point is about the difference between real life and virtual friendships. I know they're right up to a point, but I don't think it's all that hard to work out who is genuine and who is fake. I haven't been wrong so far. Maybe I'm lucky or just old enough to see through the bullshit.
I'm here on my phone. It's hard to type everything I want to on here (and to spellcheck and proof it for errors - which will bother me till I get a chance to correct them) but in the meantime, what's your views on this?
We're not all out to deceive and I think my online life is as valid as my real one. And I DO have a real life (it's just more boring than when I'm on here!)
Oh and another thing I've remembered. I have contacts ranging in age from 16-17 up to very old (I don't always ask or know) but is it considered weird for a 51 year old woman to talk to a 17 year old boy online without having any ulterior motives other than friendship? In real life I'd raise my own eyebrows but online it doesn't seem unusual. Most of my contacts are younger than me. I know I'm no threat to any of them but how do they feel about it? Do they wonder what MY motives are? And should I set my own boundries for their sakes in case other people aren't so trustworthy?
It's something I think about from time to time. I shouldn't have to but I do.
Ok. Enough rambling. I'll be online properly soon and will add to this as I think of more.
C'est un match de quartier mais la ferveur et le plaisir sont la et on s'amuse et on rigole avec les copains de tous ages. Tout le monde le sait le foot, plus que tout autre sport, unit les zhommes.
This is my favorite photo of the band. Right now, they are auditioning guitarists. If interested and serious, go to www.myspace.com/addictedmiss to listen & apply.
I love blood oranges. I got addicted to them as a child- my school friends thought they were revolting. They might look a bit off-putting but they taste wonderful. They have become more fashionable recently- the juice in particular. As far as I am aware they are only grown in Sicily where the growing conditions including some cold temperatures produce the red colour. In more recent times a lot of Orange groves were grubbed up but hopefully this will stop now.
My kids now think they are revolting. Yummy.
