The U.S. Army Japan and I Corps (Forward) Noncommissioned Officer’s Induction Ceremony was conducted June 20 at the Camp Zama Community Activity Center.

Sixteen U.S. Army Soldiers were inducted into the NCO Corps, with Command Sgt. Maj. John W. Troxell, command sergeant major for U.S. Forces, Korea, as a guest speaker for the event.

After the inductees recited the Soldier's creed followed by a candle lighting ceremony, oath of induction and the NCO’s creed, there was a cake-cutting ceremony to welcome the Soldiers to the new ranks of fellow NCOs. (U.S. Army photos by Kiyoshi Tokeshi)

i poured the craft sand left over from our ocean in a bottle activity into this tray and told T that it is special alphabet dust for him to practice writing his letters in. normally i wouldn't lie to him about stuff like this, but i don't want him to confuse this activity with his sandbox or bean bin.

Right after the shaking. There was lots of activity on the field. When I returned to our seats the whole stadium was abuzz. Everyone standing, talking, wondering.

a typical Sunday in Hidalgo,

right after mass,

people proceed to the ubiquitous flea market,

and buy whatever they see,

so if the pickpocketers don't hit you,

you still feel robbed because of your unplanned purchases.
