In questa seconda ondata della pandemia le palestre (e altri luoghi di aggregazione sociale) sono state nuovamente chiuse. Molta gente si ritrova nei parchi e giardini per continuare le loro attività.

In this second wave of the pandemic, gyms (and other places of social gathering) have been closed again. Many people gather in parks and gardens to continue their activities.

Willow Grove Day Camp in Willow Grove, PA has great swimming facilities for kids of all ages. With over 40 acres of land our facilities have 4 heated swimming pools and a large wading pool. Swimming is a summer activity for all children. Not only does it keep our campers cool on the hot days it is also a great resource for exercise.

Through out the summer we host a number of different pool activities. We have swimming contest, we play pool basketball and so much more. One of the kids favorite water game is our Water World. We setup a giant blow up apparatus for the kids to climb on.

We have campers coming from all over the area. We serve the Philadelphia, Willow Grove, Huntingdon Valley, Jenkintown, Hatboro, Horsham, and Abington areas.

For more information on the activities and resources our summer day camp has to offer for kids of all ages please visit our website at: willowgrovedaycamp.com/

The change from Daylight Saving Time back to Standard Time has been a source of consternation for the cats as I try to shift their feeding times an hour later. It is expressed with counter stalking and dramatic licking of the scoop that I use to dole out portions of dry food--as if to say "I am on the brink of starvation".

I can not get them to understand the concept. :D

This photo was taken during the geomagnetic storming 17-18th March 2015. This was the strongest geomagnetic storm of this solar cycle reaching G4 levels (Kp8).

It is a miserable day here and as outside activities have been rained off. Zara offered to pose for a photograph with one of her larger 'rope' balls. We buy rope balls in bulk because as you can see, they are very soon frayed and shredded.

The first job with any new rope ball is to cut through one of the rope strands and then after that, it is easy to shred the ball and destroy it! Sometimes they will last three or four weeks and sometimes only a couple of days, depending upon the size of the ball. A happy dog is one with rope strands strewn all over the lounge carpet!!!

Activity on the mid levels at the Zhalai Nouer (Jalainur) open cast coal mine. In temperatures of minus 30C, SY1284 bursts free of her self generated clouds of steam hauling a train that will zig-zag up through the levels - to finally tip the coal onto conveyor belts which ran up to the washery.

All gone now and one of the greatest steam spectacles in the world is no more.

Hverir, Iceland.

Hverir geothermal area near the town of Reykjahlíð is one of the most intriguing places in Iceland. It has boiling mudpots and fumaroles. The fumaroles (openings in the earth’s crust) emit sulfuric gases. The odor is pretty strong. The ground is covered in mineral deposits of various colors. The mountain overlooking the area is called Namafjall. The terrain and the scenery are simply surreal. This looks more like a hot desert than an area near the Arctic Circle.

The geothermal area is visible right from the roadside of Route 1 aka the Ring Road. If you go there early in the morning like I did you will have the place all to yourself. Shortly after I drove off, busloads of tourists arrived.

It seems to me that these are three brothers, their faces are very similar. And the youngest brother, apparently, is used as an engine😀.

The Lesser Scaup's have been going nuts catching fish in the local river (which is mostly frozen over).
