It felt so good to go on a trip even it was right here in BC not overseas (yet). Happy Blue Mondays.
Voyager en CB c'est bien aussi. Ici notre traversier en rencontre un autre dans le secteur qu'on appelle Active Pass.
Taking a temporary break from images of Germany to bring some local ones taken yesterday.
Mt. St. Helens, which last erupted 36 years ago and is rebuilding itself with a lava dome inside the crater, ( which eventually will form her new top ) and lot of new growth, including an abundance of wildflowers this year.

Dante wrote the Comedy out of the one compulsion, that is, simply for truth’s sake – for truth’s sake you write theology because there is something that needs saying that calls for it, and you write poetry because that is the only way truthfully to say it.
-Dante the Theologian, Denys Turner
Out this moring at sunrise to photography the Osprey activity. Had to wait a couple of hours as there was a heavy fog this Saturday moring. But once the fog lifted and the blue skies appeared the Ospreys were active like these two were on the grounds of Fort Pickens on the West end of Pensacola Beach Florida. For the shots today I used the Sony A9 with the Sony FE 200-600mm F5.6-6.3 G OSS lens. Be safe!

Scattered thunderstorms from northeast to northwest (10/05). Thunder was heard from storm at right. Bright backlit rain shafts contrast the darker Catalina Mountains at center. Faint anti-crepuscular rays can be glimpsed at left.

Happy New Year.
Thank you for looking at my photos last year.
I haven't posted recently, but I'd like to be more active this year.
This time I tried making a New Year's card using AI. I instructed the prompts to use snakes and waves as motifs and to keep the golden section in mind for the composition. I attached a diagram of the golden section for reference, but the New Year's card I created did not follow the golden section composition and instead had an excessive number of concentric circles.

We had a lovely conversation with the leaseholders of this property. Their life lease will run until the passing of the youngest family member alive at the time of the original lease in the 1930s.
While chatting with them, we were paddling upwind to stay near their dock. Of course the wind died down before it could help our return paddle.
Big Sur, California
A rocky section of the Pacific coast, typical of the Big Sur coast.
When an ocean’s coast coincides with active tectonic plate boundaries, you get what the geologists call an active margin. Rocky shores and coastal mountain ranges such as found along the Pacific Coast are the usual result. Long sandy beaches are a relative rarity along such coasts and are more commonly found along passive margins such as the Atlantic coast of North America.
I was hoping for some more eastbounds in the earlier morning light up on the bluffs, but the closest things were a couple of Zs working at Midway. Naturally, when I decided to move and go for an intercept I missed one; but I still added a new angle to the collection.
The first Z is done with its work at the St. Paul Intermodal Facility and is easing down the hill and through the plant at the Jackson Street control point and is about to pass under Phalen Blvd.
