"Butterflies are A-W-E-S-O-M-E, make no mistake!"
Blue tiger butterfly specimen (Tirumala limniace)!
The males have a brush at tip of the abdomen. They protrude it out and stroke the pouches of specialized scent scales on the hind wings to scatter the scent that attract the females. The eggs are laid on the tender buds or flower buds or the tips of the leaves.
An interesting video I found:

[Why Is Blue So Rare In Nature?]
I'm a bit late with this one! A pretty lovely morning in the Dee Valley above Llangollen. Not the shot I came for, but I quite like it 😊
I do really enjoy exploring the Dee Valley, so many unexpectedly wonderful views.
Happy TmT.
Ich konnte es nicht glauben, mehrfach sprang er über das Eis und rutschte ordentlich hin und her... Das nutzte ich um einige Actionbilder zu machen....

A female Tufted duck (Aythya fuligula) was framed during her take off run with precise reflection of every movements of the action! The water droplets of her footprint and wing movements rendered a special charm to this composition. Not easy to hand hold and frame the panning motion to the eye level but after some sincere efforts got one to cherish. Pics was taken from purbasthali wetland, West Bengal, India.
It’s always nice when one of my images gets explored, but I’m still waiting to feel the true thrill of it. The most beautiful ones often don’t! Honestly, part of my indifference might be because I never seem to find my own photos on the Explore page. After scrolling about 40% down, my patience runs out, and I move on to something else. Maybe that’s the real secret - if you can’t find it, you can’t get too excited! 😄
Thank you so much for taking the time to view, like, and comment on my uploads, I truly appreciate it!

This was taken from my seat at the Open-Air Theatre in Regent's Park, London when we visited recently. They do a different musical each summer and when we lived in London we would go every year. This year's musical was La Cage Aux Folles, a favourite of ours. We enjoyed it so much. It was adapted as an American film in 1996 called The Birdcage starring, amongst others, the much missed Robin Williams

Filou does the only sensible thing at the moment and stays active ! Outside it is damp and cold and in the house the heating didn't work for two days. The problem seems to be fixed now but the house still feels icy. I have a cold now and the cats are nervous wrecks because of the strange intruders in their home who made a lot of noise. We will all need the weekend to recover.

Here's one from the summer... I found it surprisingly difficult to photograph a squirrel running... they're so fast! I sat for ages, waiting, with peanuts as bait ;-)
Thanks for all the likes and comments!
KCS 4810 and a KCS Ace leads Q-ROBCHI through the small town of Mazon. I’ve currently got the Rona and I went trackside to leave my room for a little bit and was able to grab this guy.
Although not the clearest shot - I just loved the bokeh and the way the flower appears to be reaching for the sky. Wishing you all well today (especially for my good friend Machel, her husband and little India who have all been so sick!).

This weeks SNS is Michigan Northern Alco 1501 leading a couple sisters along what I'd guess maybe Fife Lake in this unlabeled slide with a processing date of May, 1978, No photographer to credit and no location but a nice view of the days when MIGN was running heavy lumber drags south from the Chief Wawatam connection. Chuck Schwesinger collection.
