Tai showed energy yesterday by running down his hill a couple of times. I wasn't expecting it so I wasn't able to catch it all on video. It was good to see him have these energetic bursts among the pretty fall color in his yard.

The husband is having a hard time with my pregnancy cravings, but he's super picky in general. Today for lunch I made myself a meatless meatball hoagie, on good French bread, with pizza sauce, vegan soy cheese and vegan parmesan. It was divine. But the heartburn afterwards...not so much.

Jackson was not always a healthy baby boy.
When he was born they brought him to me later and he was SCREAMING, the nurse asked me if I drank caffeine while pregnant, I was embarrassed and am embarrassed to say that yes I did, she said "well he's coming off of it" WHAT? They tell me before we can take him home that he has a heart murmur we need to get an EKG done.
It's only a "still murmur" I think that's what they called it.
Home for 2 weeks and he was NOT like any newborn I had been around. He wouldn't sleep at all in the day, he squirmed, made funny faces.
Finally after 10 or so calls to the pediatrician they decided to put us on antacid medicine for "acid reflux"
3 years later he is still on it, he has what is called GERD, gastroesophageal reflux disease. I know when someone says "acid reflux" you immediately think heartburn, this is so much different.
When he was 3 months old he went on a hunger strike, wouldn't take a bottle AT ALL... basically he figured it out, if I eat it hurts, so I'm not going to eat. We would feed him with a syringe, anything to get calories and fluid in him.
He's better now, he is on medicine and while on it he is WONDERFUL.. we have tried several time to wean with no success. I think this is just something he will have to deal with.
Oh, and that is where Ella and I met, we were both on the same reflux site, I actually got to meet Ella in person two years ago at an acid reflux convention. *muah* sweetie!

i have GERD , its a medical condition where in stomach acid regurgitates to the esophagus. my case is not really serious, but it can be painful at times.
i avoid spicy foods and caffeine as much as possible. i have to eat slowly (in which sometimes im out of control, mind you i eat fast- its my normal).
i think its genetics, because my dad has it too.

i just found out a week later after shooting this that the chair’s legs were broken, fortunately it didn’t give up while im on top of it. I feel very lucky hahah

Jack suffers from some fierce acid reflux. Besides causing him severe discomfort, it's caused him to spit up so much that he hasn't been gaining weight at the ideal rate. His Doctor recently prescribed liquid Zantac, and it seems to be agreeing with him quite well. He's keeping almost all of his food down and rarely spits up any significant amount of food.
Im happy to say that I no longer need to take any medications for heartburn. I used to take one or two of these Omeprazole a day. But since I changed my eating habits and made some changes to my diet (my flickr photostream may not reflect that..lol) I havent suffered any heartburn or acid reflux in almost a year now.
Im going to be getting rid of this medication tomorrow but I thought it would be cool to have a little fun with it before they are destroyed
