I've cut and gessoed some thick cardboard into a dozen 2.5x3.5inch "Artist Cards, Editions, and Originals". That should last me a while. This one is from a photo taken in a house in Lorraine.
An ACEO I made for my etsy store.
Wow, is this a bad ACEO or what? Have you ever seen a fungus so delighted to be alive as this little mushroom? Pen and art marker on 100 lb acid free smooth bristol paper. Original, not a print!
ACEO stands for Art Cards, Editions and Originals. Basically art that is 2.5" x 3.5", after that anything goes!
"Fishing boats by the beach and the cliffs at Pourville", but mine is smaller: 2.5x3.5inches!
(FR) " Barques de peche devant la plage et les falaises de Pourville"
Mixed-media art card featuring a page from a vintage grammar book and reproductions of vintage owl engravings
Dimensions: 2.5" x 3.5"
I'd love some feedback, my lovely Flickr friends! I wanted to do some ACEOs, to experiment a bit, and get back to some drawing, so I did these. I'm having a lot of trouble with the backgrounds. My first thought was to collage them, but I hated all the fiddly cutting out of my drawing. (The one top right has a background of Cath Kidston paper, but you can't see it for glare. Sorry.) I didn't really want to spend time on a detailed background, but maybe that's the only way to go?
A lovely little 2.5"x3.5" art card
The mask image is from one of my oldest carvings, made fresh again!

I made these a few weeks back at an amazing art retreat I attended! So much fun! It was just sitting around in your jammies all day being waited on at meal time and doing nothing but crafting! I can't wait to go again in October! :)
An ACEO I have up on eBay. Almost couldn't part with it...still feeling a bit remorseful about it. sigh...
