9/15/13.....looking into a paperweight by glass artist dan battat at stART, the street art festival in worcester last sunday. there are 2 shots from different angles. (he's also the person who made me the tiny glass turtle farther down in the photostream :)

Not quite how I want to get this - rotten light and rain, still - but I love the way the textures and colours work on these houses and have been trying to get this abstract for ages

Using scarves & shooting with slow shutter with ICM.....gives totally different abstract images.

just playing...... of many versions I prefer this......tonight. just some patterns of light that caught my eye.

one of my contacts talked about this technique - and I'd been meaning to try it. It's very simple - you fill a glass pan with a half inch of water, then pour in some cooking oil. Just a bit. Lay something colorful on the ground (a Hawaiian shirt in this case) and put the pan on top of it. You need to put something between the pan and the cloth to lift the pan up a bit. I used a few drinking cups.

Then shoot. I think the original instructions said someone used a telephoto, but I wound up using my extension tubes and getting very close.
