Located inside another one of Utah State's beautiful red stone parks. This is found at the end of a gorgeous hike at Capitol Reef National Park, between the towns of Torrey and Caineville. There is so much to view and photograph along the trail, and at the end, this magnificent treasure to behold!

Villian // Above the Rest for ODC.
So one of our touristy stops was to Coit Tower.
This fella stayed at this window for ages deep in thought..plotting perhaps. I was waiting to get a shot and when he wasn't moving I thought I would just include him ^_^
With the city view and how he's in the shadows he could be a villainous character perhaps

Sorry for the 'copy' of a similar shot taken a while back with Socrates and Thomas.
I struggled with this challenge and couldn't resist this easy shot.

Definitely the biggest caterpillar I have ever seen. Elephant Hawk Moth Caterpillar, my one year old Grandson Ben was delighted with him but eventually had to rescue it as it was in danger of being squashed.
Our Daily Challenge - Advert and Addiction
Tried to advertise my Smartie addiction, and of course my new found Levitation addiction all wrapped into a pretty serious ODC addiction!

Sigil - A Red Sun Impaled on a Golden Spear
Motto "Unbowed, Unbent, Unbroken"
After watching the awesome Game of Thrones series I became slightly obsessed with each of the House's and their identity or sigil.
Having found the houses and their representative sigils. I set about creating a vector for each one of them and creating a poster. I hope you like them as much as I do.
Products with this on are now available from my Redbubble

Taken for the ODC theme today of "Above the rest". We planted some seeds with the kids a week or so ago, nearly all of them have taken, but this tomato plant here seems to tower over the rest at the moment.

Macro Monday Theme of "Three" + Free Evan Longoria "Game 162" Figurine Giveaway = Excuse to go to baseball game in Tampa.
September 28, 2011 - It was Game 122 - the last day of the 2011 regular season for Major League Baseball. The Tampa Bay Rays faced the New York Yankees in a "must win" game. The Rays were fighting to just make it into the playoffs as the wild card team.
But a month earlier, it almost seemed as though the Rays had absolutely no chance to even be in contention for a playoff spot. The Boston Red Sox had commanding 9 game lead for the wild card spot - a deficit which no team had ever overcome within the last month of the season. That did not deter the Rays as they went through a magical run in September with some timely wins, while Boston faltered and stumbled through that stretch. Each game became more critical to the hopes of reaching the postseason as the calendar continued to inch ever closer to the end of September.
Finally, it came down to the last game for each team - finally tied in the standings for that wild card spot and the final postseason berth. The Rays had three possible outcomes: this could be their last game until the start of the 2012 season; they could force a one game playoff versus Boston if both remained tied in the standings after their respective games; or the Rays could be popping champagne bottles celebrating a trip to the playoffs. Late into their respective games, it appeared the magic was running out for the Rays - in their game versus the Yankees, they were trailing. The Yankees had a 7-0 lead in the late innings. Meanwhile, the Boston Red Sox were playing a game in Baltimore against an Orioles team that already had been eliminated from postseason consideration. The Red Sox appeared to have that final berth taken care of.
But then something happened. Rain forced a delay in Boston's game against Baltimore. In that span, the Rays mounted a phenomenal comeback in the late innings against New York - and tied the game on what could easily have been their final out of the game. The Rays and Yankees were going to play some extra baseball. When the rain ended in Baltimore and the field readied to resume play, the Red Sox seemed lost and out of sync. Baltimore came back to tie the game - no, rather Baltimore capitalized on some poor play by Boston to stun the Red Sox.
The fate of the final playoff spot hinged on the outcome in Tampa, where the Yankees and Rays were still tied after several extra innings of play. Minutes after Boston walked off that Baltimore field in shame, back in Tampa, Rays third baseman Evan Longoria came up to the plate against the Yankees. The crowd cheered as the stadium crew flashed the result of the Boston-Baltimore game. The worst case scenario would be a one game playoff with Boston. Unless... something spectacular happened.
Longoria stepped up to the plate. Here came the pitch. Longoria swung his bat and made contact. The ball cleared the fence in the shortest part of the field. Longoria raised his arms in the air as the crowd erupted into cheerful roar. The Rays would walk-off that field victorious, heading to the playoffs. They achieved what seemed to be an insurmountable goal, and did so in dramatic fashion.
This was a figurine given to the first 10,000 fans to the Tampa Bay Rays game on April 22, 2012, commemorating the "walk-off" home run hit by Evan Longoria on the last day of the 2011 MLB regular season (Game 162) to propel the Rays into the playoffs as the wild card team.
Our Daily Challenge - Group 3: "Above the Rest." The Rays rose above the rest to set a new bench mark - the first team in MLB history to overcome a 9-game deficit in the last month of the regular season to make it into the postseason.
HMM! And Go Rays!
Finally returned back home from my visit to see the newlyweds in Brockport, NY.
We really enjoyed our visit, as we were treated to not just family time, but also lots of new places to experience, photographic opportunities, educational time, travel, beautiful country, and wonderfully cool and sunny weather!
As I began to orient myself again to being at home, I looked at my Caller ID and was extremely happy that there was a message saying that my camera was all good again and ready for pick up. Yeah! Seemed like an eternity that I haven't had it, though it did make the traveling easier. :-)
So, today's image (since I haven't had a second to go through my images from the trip) is about the bright beginnings - again - that is what I hope to have with my D3s.
It was taken last year during a trip to the Canadian Rockies. In this case, we were traveling through Golden, British Columbia, Canada. There was a ski resort nearby from our yurt, which offered mountain biking trails, and of course, Tom had to test them out for himself (on this trip he actually drove, along with his assortment of recreational toys to effectively PLAY along the way). As he readied for his ride, I found some wild flowers in the nearby lot and began to shoot.
This particular one I really liked, for there was something about the way one flower seemed to tower over the others and coupled with the amazing truck bokeh in the background, it really sums up how I feel about getting my camera back - all sparkly and excited.
I will be home now for a bit and able to catch up on flickr again, so thanks for your patience. Thanks also for stopping by and for any comments that you should choose to leave. Much appreciated!
Hope that everyone has an amazing weekend ahead!

My dumplings of course! Saying that, I'm not one of those mums that can't see that my kids make wrong choices and can be real brats sometimes.LOL But in my heart there will never be anyone or anything that can take their place, so in there they are above the rest by a longshot 8)
I think Nicholas needs to go back to school soon so he can get some good rest ( look at the dark rings under his eyes and his enthusiastic expression) it's been far too many late nights during the holidays..lol And Ella definatley needs her fringe cut, I can't see her beautiful eyes and Leon needs to work on his tan.lol JK

When he stands upright, this bull giraffe is nearly 6m or 20 ft high. He didn't think much of the rather desiccated leaves I was offering, but politely nibbled at them so I wouldn't be disappointed .

Some poor kids trainers hanging from the phone line. They are that high that no one can take them down.
They must have been there over a year now and still hanging around.
ODC- (A Cut) Above The Rest
Meet Paul Bunyan. He stands stoically above the streets of The International District of Albuquerque. Sometime in the past his forearms fell off. He also lost his axe. No one has bothered to fix Paul's arms which is unfortunate. Now he stands there without any way to defend himself against the countless number of pigeons who use him for a perch!
