What I like about this one is that was able to capture the rose in full bloom, the rosebude and way behind what is left of one.
December is here, and it is going to bring snow, strong winds, slippery roads and for sure flight cancelations.
Still, it will bring also the beauty of the slowly falling snow, the joy of having a hot cup of cocoa or coffee, ( your choice :) and of course the unique feeling of being safe and warm at home...

Taken about 80km northwest of Townsville, Queensland,Australia. The nearest town is Paluma.
There was smoke in the sky from fires. These fires were small compared to the ones that occurred later in 2019 and up to the present. Most of the smoke was from a fire on Magnetic Island about 90km away.

"Shine On You Crazy Diamond", was written as a tribute to Syd Barrett, one of the founders of Pink Floyd. He was also known as "The Crazy Diamond Syd". Barrett was a very creative musician and is considered one of the rock icons, with a strong influence on many artists, very especially to David Bowie. Syd Barrett is a key piece to understand the evolution of rock in the 70s.. Excessive drug use, especially LSD, caused him serious mental health problems. Syd Barrett died in 2006 at the age of 60. The Universal is a science fiction song written as a tribute to two films by film director Stanley Kubrick. Last week we got about 60cm of snow and today we got about 10-15cm of ice and sleet (which is like ten times worse than 1 meter of snow). So New England winter is in full swing and I am looking forward for summer 2022 and the day I am going to fly to Greece. Until that day though, I can think about that by looking at photos from last summer. This is the Bouza lighthouse in Aegina, one of my favorite places on the island. Errected in 1881, it's only 9meters tall but still one of the island's most famous landmarks. It sits at the island's westernost spot right next to the church of Saint Apostles. A beautiful place to relax and enjoy the sunset as the ferries pass by. It feels like the lighthouse is providing a shining path to them.
PS: I know I haven't been around much commenting and (most importantly) replying to comments on my photos, but at some point I will find the time to show my appreciation to your comments and faves!
