Photogenic Mink photographed at British Wildlife Centre. He always does his best to give me his good side!!
A few wee facts about this voracious hunter. Minks are well adapted to swimming and prefer watery habitats, while weasels tend to avoid the water and prefer grassy habitats.
Subtly patterned brown-and-yellow warbler, known for constantly bobbing its tail. Often forages on the ground, unlike most other warblers. Breeding plumage shows a rufous cap. In fall and winter, look for pale eyebrow and dark line through the eye, diffuse streaks on underparts, and bright yellow undertail coverts. Two populations: “Western” is browner overall, brightest on the undertail coverts; “Yellow” is more suffused with yellow overall; they overlap extensively in range, especially during fall migration. Breeds in bogs and clearings in the boreal forest. In migration, found in a variety of open, shrubby habitats. One of the more common warblers wintering in the southern U.S.; also winters in the Caribbean and Yucatan Peninsula. (eBird)

Came across this "western" Palm Warbler a week or so ago. This is the common sub-species of Palm Warbler in our area. The "yellow" sub-species that I posted about a month ago is the unusual version, with just a tiny breeding population in a local bog.

Thinking about you...missing you...and looking forward to seeing you again. ❤️
"You look at me and, babe, I wanna catch on fire

And the whole world fades

Not at all. Frankfurt likes to sleep
and a lot. But if you kiss it awake,
then it's off.
You just have to know how. Frankfurt
you have to touch a thousand times until
it eventually zooms in.

Man muss halt wissen wie. Frankfurt

es irgendwann 'Zoom' macht.

We arrived here about 60 minutes before sunrise wanting to capture that time as the first light starts to appear in the sky. We wanted a lot of time to move around the fields and do different set ups for the shots. I found this area and sat here for about 15 minutes awaiting the breaking sun on the lavender. I really wasn't sure what kind of color I would get with a yellow sun and purple flowers, but I liked it more than I thought.
This is taken at the Lavender Valley Farms in the hills above Hood River.

I took a trip on a train
And I thought about you
I passed a shadowy lane
And I thought about you
Two or three cars parked under the stars Winding stream
Moon shining down on some little town And with each beam, the same old dream And every stop that we made Oh, I thought about you And when I pulled down the shade Then I really felt blue
I peeped through the crack
Looked at the track
Oh I'm going back to you
And what did I do? I thought about you There were two or three cars parked under the stars
Winding stream
Moon shining down on some little town And with each beam, the same old dream
And then I peeped through the crack And looked at the track
Oh I'm going back to you
And what did I do? I thought about you

Newberry Volcano is a large active shield-shaped stratovolcano located about 20 miles (32 km) south of Bend, Oregon, United States, 35 miles (56 km) east of the major crest of the Cascade Range, within the Newberry National Volcanic Monument. Its highest point is Paulina Peak. The largest volcano in the Cascade Volcanic Arc, Newberry has an area of 1,200 square miles (3,100 km2) when its lava flows are taken into account. From north to south, the volcano has a length of 75 miles (121 km), with a width of 27 miles (43 km) and a total volume of approximately 120 cubic miles (500 km3). It was named for the geologist and surgeon John Strong Newberry, who explored central Oregon for the Pacific Railroad Surveys in 1855. The surrounding area has been inhabited by Native American populations for more than 10,000 years.
Last week we got about 60cm of snow and today we got about 10-15cm of ice and sleet (which is like ten times worse than 1 meter of snow). So New England winter is in full swing and I am looking forward for summer 2022 and the day I am going to fly to Greece. Until that day though, I can think about that by looking at photos from last summer. This is the Bouza lighthouse in Aegina, one of my favorite places on the island. Errected in 1881, it's only 9meters tall but still one of the island's most famous landmarks. It sits at the island's westernost spot right next to the church of Saint Apostles. A beautiful place to relax and enjoy the sunset as the ferries pass by. It feels like the lighthouse is providing a shining path to them.

About blackbird-sized and striking black-and-white. It has a very distinctive bouncing flight and spends most of its time clinging to tree trunks and branches, often trying to hide on the side away from the observer. Its presence is often announced by its loud call or by its distinctive spring 'drumming' display. The male has a distinctive red patch on the back of the head and young birds have a red crown.
What they eat: Insects, seeds and nuts(Courtesy RSPB).

The Steinhuder Meer in Lower Saxony is the largest lake in northwestern Germany with an area of 29.12 km² (that's 11.24 sq mi for the "imperialists"). It is a shallow lake with a maximum depth of 2.9 metres, formed after the recession of the glaciers of the Weichselian glaciation, about 14,000 years ago.

I talk about how we have social rules in place to protect us and how some people are social and others are not and we all have a different line you can't cross... I know, it sounds weird, but it's on the blog readmeri.wordpress.com/2020/02/27/dont-cross-the-line/
