A prodigious group of artists, great challenges.

.

I first followed the tutorial of PIXIMPERFECT www.youtube.com/watch?v=xFxylWAAFSM

For the double exposure technique and used his picture material.

I learned I was the clumsiest human on earth and I kept deleting or modifying things without saving my progress and having to redo some steps repeatedly. The pleasing thing is by doing repetition, you actually memorize everything better. I also learn that the TAB button places everything full screen in photoshop and hides all your panels and because somehow I didn't know I panic a bit.

I typically work by intuition and handle everything until I get a result, this is why following a tutorial in stages was more painful lol. But was able to complete the task and was quite proud of the result.

I enjoy the project, but the result was at the end almost a copy conform from the tutorial, and I wanted to deconstruct it and produce something distinctive. Here is the result, a special Admin award for my Flickr group.

A gold pin for being a member since 40 years (many years ago).

My choice of award for the Macro Mondays theme.

Given to my husband for running in the Shrewsbury Half Marathon in 1991. Set in small marble block with details of run and time taken.

This is the one I won for my weather pictures, it's on my kitchen windowsill catching the sunrise beyond.

It's just under the groups size limit.

Super chuffed to have had a couple of images recognised at the International Monochrome Awards, in the abstract and architecture categories.

Big thanks to everyone here on Flickr, as without your support and feedback I probably wouldn’t bother half the time!

Check out the links below, some incredible work on there.

I had a wonderful career in the United States Navy. The military awards performance not with dollars but with medals and their accompanying ribbons. We used to say that you could read a person's career by their awards, worn as medals on dress uniforms and a ribbon front ("fruit salad") on their working uniforms. My last command was as TF Surgeon for Joint Task Force Civil Support, then in Tidewater Virginia. We were tasked with preparing to assist civilian authorities with support in the event of use of weapons of mass destruction in the USA. That included chemical, biologic, radiologic, and nuclear (CBRN).

I learned much about what medical needs would be for all of them. As an infectious diseases physician and epidemiologist, I was able to bring expertise to that area immediately. My terminal award was the one to the left on this part of my miniature medals clasp, the Defense Superior Service Medal. I remain proud of this award 20 years on from my Navy retirement.

No, not this photo, but if I had managed to get there for the sunrise, who knows, it could have been award winning. If you follow Lynne Berry (and if you don't, why not?) then you will know that I agreed to met her and her donkey at this location for sunrise. The coloured light that morning was spectacular. I know because I viewed it for the whole journey from Craster to Lindisfarne. I just got there too late. But still, always fun capturing these upturned boat sheds and that castle.
