The busiest airport in the world

An on time Amtrak #20 'The Crescent' meets NS #213 (Rutherford, PA - Atlanta, GA) at Birmont Junction on a steamy June evening. #20 will be making its stop at 100+ year old Peachtree Station moments later.

The Atlanta International Airport is not a flashy airport but it gets the most work done with more flights in and out of its port than anywhere else in the world. Of course, that is when there is not a heavy Covid pandemic in America that is causing many flights to be canceled.

No one on the road. A rare and awesome occurrence.

Maple trees don't normally get me excited to take a picture of when I see them, but this ornamental cut-leaf with the color variations, was a beautiful specimen tree. The mass of leaves just seemed to glow in the shadows and the deep red center was a fantastic contrast to the chartreuse green of the rest of the leaves.

The Atlanta Botanical Gardens were full of a variety of plants all coming into full bloom at the end of May and the start of June. The Hydrangeas with their color variations ranging from pink to sky blue, to deep blue and violet were the showcase plants to see. But this maple, because of its bright green & red colors and the fact that it was the leaves and not the blooms of the plant that stood, set it apart from most of the others.
