A whole plethora of Far Eastern toy makers made their own versions of the 70's Chevrolet Stepside from that era onwards and no doubt a few may still linger on in their line up. Strangely it took Matchbox into the Millennium with their new Golden Era to bring out their own equivalent and for me and no doubt other collectors it was that defining casting which reignited my passion for everything Matchbox. It seemed to disappear from the basic line up for a few years but its back for 2018 much to the delight of a good many fans. Grey plastic of course now features heavily on the baseplate and front panel but it kind of suits this type of vehicle so not an overly big issue for me. A shiny metallic blue paint covers this crisp and boxy pick-up and after all these years it still wears those distinctive trip-spoke wheels. Bought recently and very unexpectedly from my local ASDA as part of the new E Case. They had only put out Batch D just one week prior! Mint and boxed.
