The Sioux Narrows Art Show is held every August Long Weekend. Brock Blosser is shown here with his carvings. Many other local and nearby artists fill the Curling Club with their artwork.
I attended a wonderful art show today in Mendocino. Every piece explored the art of letters, words. books. This large collaborative piece contained work from artists around the world. I hope this work will inspire some of you. I will load other close views of it below - but I think its best to click above and arrow-click through them to see larger on black , thanks.
I think the frame makes the picture look better than it is.
Personally I do like this photo, but it is not one of my favorites...but it was chosen, so who knows.

Scott Hove is fascinated by the dual nature of humans and society, in which good and harmful impulses are constantly at odds. Cakes signal celebrations and hedonist enjoyment, appealing to taste and desire with their frosted, rich exteriors. In Hove’s sculptures, cake is juxtaposed with horns and vicious fangs that trigger opposite instincts of fear or caution. The viewer is asked to balance these dark elements into the lightness of the cake. With the title Oligarch, Hove expresses concern that allowing corporate interests to determine government policy centralizes power in a small group, creating an oligarchy. Hove aimed to create artwork that an oligarch might collect.
Hove appeared in Hi-Fructose volumes 12 and 39 and Collected Edition volume 3.
