The culpeo, sometimes known as the zorro culpeo or Andean fox.

Very common bird in Colombia,especially near people. In some ways filling the niche of Corvids in the northern hemispere. South American Jays,the only Corvids, are elusive forest birds.

My brother-in-law Nelson and my stepson Augusto warming up to a dawn sun at an altitude of a little over 14,000 ft. (4,270 mt.) in the Bolivian Cordillera Oriental of the Andes about 100 miles (161 km) NNW of Cochabamba (as the crow flies, assuming a crow flies in a straight line, and at that altitude)
