스카이72 골프클럽이 오는 11월까지 8개월간 대장정으로 진행 되는 아마추어 골프대회 2013 스카이72 마스터즈’를 개최한다. 스카이72의 주최로 매년 개최 되던 이 대회는 지난해까지 5년간‘G마켓 마스터즈’로 개최됐으나, 올해부터는 더 많은 아마추어들이 참여할 수 있도록 대회 방식을 바꾸고 스카이72에서 직접 대회를 개최한다. 또 푸르덴셜생명, 기아자동차, 워커힐, 에이스회원권 거래소에서 후원한다.
스카이72 마스터즈의 전체 예선기간은 오는 8월 31일까지이며, 참가를 원할 경우 인터넷으로 간단한 참가신청을 한 후 스카이72 골프클럽에서 2회 이상 라운드 한 골퍼라면 누구나 참여 가능하다. 스카이72 마스터즈는 개인전인 스카이72 오픈(SKY72 Open)과 야간골프로 이뤄지는 나이트 아울(Night Owl) 2개 부문으로 운영된다. 3차례의 선발전을 거쳐 11월에 최종결선이 진행된다. 예선전 집계 방식은 신페리오를 적용하여 베스트 스코어 2개의 평균 상위권자를 대상으로 선발한다. 스카이72 오픈은 1차 5월, 2차 7월, 3차 9월에 결선진출자 선발전이 열리고, 나이트 아울은 6월과 8월에 결선진출자 선발전이 열린다. 최종결선전은 11월에 개최된다.
올해 ‘스카이72 마스터즈’에는 2대의 최고급 자동차가 시상품으로 걸려있다. 스카이72 오픈, 나이트 아울 우승자 및 입상자 최종 12명 중 1인을 추첨하여 K5 자동차를 시상한다. 결선전 홀인원이 나올 경우에도 기아자동차 최고급 자동차가 제공 될 예정이다.
각 예선 선발전 스트로크 1위에게는 100만원 상당의 상품이 돌아간다. 신페리오 1위에게는 40만원 상당의 상품이 제공된다. 최종 결선전 스트로크 1위는 300만원 상당의 상품을 받는다.
The story behind this is quite a sad one, and due to my laziness it's time to quote Wikipedia:
"In Greek mythology, Penthesilea was an Amazonian queen, daughter of Ares and Otrera, and sister of Hippolyta, Antiope and Melanippe. Quintus Smyrnaeus explains more fully than pseudo-Apollodorus how Penthesilea came to be at Troy: Penthesilea had killed Hippolyta with a spear when they were hunting deer; this accident caused Penthesilea so much grief that she wished only to die, but, as a warrior and an Amazon, she had to do so honorably and in battle. She therefore was easily convinced to join in the Trojan War, fighting on the side of Troy's defenders.
In the Pseudo-Apollodorus Epitome of the Bibliotheke she is said to have been killed by Achilles, "who fell in love with the Amazon after her death and slew Thersites for jeering at him". The Greek Thersites jeered at Achilles's treatment of Penthesilea's body, whereupon Achilles killed him.
"When the roughneck was at last killed by Achilles, for mocking the hero's lament over the death of the Amazon queen Penthesilea, a sacred feud was fought for Thersites' sake": Thersites' cousin Diomedes, enraged at Achilles' action, harnessed Penthesilea's corpse behind his chariot, dragged it and cast it into the Scamander, whence, however, it was retrieved and given decent burial, whether by Achilles or by the Trojans is not known from our fragmentary sources."

This shot was taken for the strobist boot camp challenge that has already finished. I did it just for the experience.
Info: used two strobes one SB-28 snooted and triggered by PW at 1/16 power. One Sunpak 383 triggered by an optical slave pointing up with a blue empty wine bottle acting as a diffuser and a gel.
The bottle of water was sitting on a glass mirror with some water drops on the glass as you can see in the setup shot.
I was pleased with the results I got from my one hour shoot.
