♫ Elton John - Step Into Christmas ♫

Welcome to my Christmas song

I'd like to thank you for the year

So I'm sending you this Christmas card

To say it's nice to have you here

I'd like to sing about all the things

Your eyes and mind can see

So hop aboard the turntable

Oh, step into Christmas with me

Step into Christmas

Let's join together

We can watch the snow fall forever and ever

Eat, drink, be merry

Come along with me

Step into Christmas

The admission's free

"Step Into Christmas by Elton John"

Step into Christmas

Let's join together

We can watch the snow fall forever and ever

Eat, drink and be merry

Come along with me

Step into Christmas

The admission's free

Come on in, admission's free. We won't refuse those who want to see.

Come on in, admission's free

I won't refuse those who wanna see

I said it's strange

Bring your loved ones, those you hold dear

Bring them all, there's no restrictions here

Said it's strange

Don't look for blame as an easy escape

There's nothing on show that isn't your shame

Lord, your shame

So come on in, it's a small price to pay

I won't refuse those who've lost their way

Come on in

Lyrics by Paul Weller.

I often think of abandoned buildings as museums, pieces of past glories stuck in the now, where they are ignored or neglected. Sometimes they are almost treated like an attraction, much like a museum. I ALWAYS contemplate the history the building has gone through, what it has seen in it's life and wonder how they got where they currently are: evidence of a much different time where the purpose they served was much different than today.

Eat, drink and be merry

Come along with me

Step into Christmas

The admission's free

Take care in all you do next year

And keep smiling through the days

If we can help to entertain you

Oh we will find the ways

So merry Christmas one and all

There's no place I'd rather be

Than asking you if you'd oblige

Stepping into Christmas with me

Elton John & Bernie Taupin ~ Step Into Christmas

This is the first in a series of flickr style, Holiday gifts for my friends here on the site.

Several will be dedications and have a specific person or style in mind without naming names; kinda like a "Secret Santa" in reverse.

Nevertheless, 'tis the season to celebrate the Holidays, enjoy yourselves, and think about presents as well each others presence, virtually or in person.

Happy Holidays, my friends!

Getting my admission's worth...

We have been friends since many years and for about one year after I finish my tennis we both do the rounds of the Bandra reclamation park and we chat about our country our city .

I have been shooting Sudeshjis Sarvajnik Shiv Sena Ganeshotsav every year opp Bandra Talao .

He is very fond of Marziya who has shot him when she was only 2 year s old at the Bandra Post Office.

It was Sudeshji who took her greetings to Balasaheb on his birthday many years back .

Marziya has shot the Shivaji Jayanti at the Bandra Hill Road Shakah too.

Suresh Dubey ji has helped a lot of poor students that I referred to him who had no money to pay their school fees and for admission s to college .

My life at Bandra cuts through all party lines I belong to no political party I belong to Bandra and Bandra belongs to all Bandraites .

Admission Day was first celebrated in 1850, on October 29, when a ship sailed into the harbor with the news that California had been admitted to the Union on September

9, 1850. I guess after that initial lag, they celebrated on September 9. If you look at the photo in the mega-whopping Original size (surprising that the upload took), you can see that there was some connection between Admission Day and Labor Day. The sign attached to the corner of the building says something about "Seating Available."

I doubt that these "Indians" have anything to do with Buffalo Bill. Again, looking at the Original size, I'm not even sure they are "real" Native-Americans." Wearing outlandish costumes is not unheardof in San Francisco.

Now that Thanksgiving is over, the Christmas decorations can come out. We decorated the tree on Friday. We bought a new tree to replace the one we had for the last 6 years. I was calling it our Charlie Brown tree. It was just a little sparse looking, but once all the decorations and ornaments were put on it, it looked a lot better. This tree has colored lights (we had white lights on the old tree) and they are LED, so hopefully won't burn out like the last tree.

Title: Big Bunny

Date: Spring 2001

Artist's Statement:

Stuffed animals are soft, fluffy playthings that we give to children. They are harmless versions of essentially wild animals. We endow them with human characteristics to make them safer and more controllable. We puff out their cheeks and bellies and widen their eyes so that they seem adorable and innocent. All the aspects of a real animal that are threatening are softened or removed. These stuffed toys are made on a small scale so they can be pet, handled and enjoyed by children. But what happens when the scale is changed? How does the relationship between the stuffed toy and the person change when the toy becomes larger than the person?

Big Bunny is installed in the Seeley G. Mudd Library. This is not an accident. Big Bunny would not be out of place in a toy store display; it would be accepted as appropriate and normal. In the library at Lawrence University, however, it might be seen as a little bit odd. This is where serious studying and learning occurs. After viewing a giant, white stuffed rabbit in the periodical area one might begin to question the seriousness of their surroundings. Can one carry on an important conversation or read a thought-provoking book in the shadow of this ridiculously large toy? Imagine if it were placed in Main Hall. What would you think if you were a prospective student and saw it displayed in the Admission's office? Could you take what President Warch said seriously if, at the next convocation, he was introducing a speaker with Big Bunny standing next to him on stage? The idea is absurd and incredibly funny. I hope that you find as much humor in this piece as I do.
