In real life it is not too hard to tell a monkey from an ape, but with plush animals it is a bit harder. It is nice to know apes do not have tails, while monkeys do, so that is wat I keep in mind to tell them apart.
Apes do not have tails, while most monkey species do.
Apes tend to be larger than monkeys and usually have larger brains. Apes also tend to live longer than monkeys. Although monkeys communicate with each other, apes possess more advanced cognitive and language skills. Monkey species include baboons, macaques, marmosets, tamarins, and capuchins. Ape species include humans, gorillas, chimpanzees, orangutans, gibbons, and bonobos.

Stichting AAP Almere is hét opvangcentrum in Nederland voor apen en andere exotische zoogdieren die zijn gered door Stichting AAP. Op stadslandgoed De Kemphaan zijn de dieren opgevangen die zijn gered van illegale handel, gebruikt voor entertainment of als huisdier werden gehouden.
The foundation AAP Almere is the shelter in the Netherlands for monkeys and other exotic mammals rescued by the AAP Foundation. The animals that were rescued from illegal trade, used for entertainment or kept as pets have been taken care of on the Kemphaan city estate.
