This shopping center was built in 1990.
There's a development application sign at the front of this property.

Another photo merge, this time of the bustling West Side Market on Christmas Eve. I loved the warm, bustling atmosphere here, and tried to capture it in this photo.

For the Asian Object Lesson I brought my plush panda bear to show my discussion group. What is Asian about it? First off when almost anyone seeing a panda bear it is immediately if not always associated with Asia. Being seen on many signs of Asian restaurants, on jewelry, or sold as a plush stuffed animal at zoos like mine, pandas are an international symbol to Asia.
Panda bears are native mammals to Central China. They can be seen and found in various mountain ranges living peacefully and munching on bamboo. But sadly Giant panda bears are now on the endangered species list as a animal that is going extinct from our beautiful planet, they can now be seen in special exhibits helping to preserve and repopulate them at zoos and wild animal parks.
Five tag word I used to describe my panda bear were:
black & white
-extinction
-bamboo
-international symbol
-mammal. With those my class discussion group was formed. My group in my discussion was based off the fact that all of our items have or had been present in international relations, marketing, and tourism. Pandas are part of this as a childhood toy that is manufactured throughout the world as a symbol of Asia/China and it is also present in tourism, i.e.: the panda exhibit at the world famous San Diego Zoo in California. The other objects in my group were imported cigarettes, business cards, fake designer wear, etc. This shows Asia as well as other countries are involved in the international market.

Our church held a Walk to Bethlehem in which you walk through live actors telling the story of the birth of Jesus. Most of it was outside (in 28 degree weather), but we ended up in a Bethlehem marketplace with activities for kids. Here's Molly grinding some coffee at one of the stands.

May 13, 2016 - "Faneuil Hall Marketplace is actually four great places in one location - Faneuil Hall, Quincy Market, North Market and South Market, all set around a cobblestone promenade where jugglers, magicians and musicians entertain the passers-by. So by all means, stroll, shop, eat, laugh, wander, wonder and explore it all.
In 1742 Peter Faneuil, Boston's wealthiest merchant, built Faneuil Hall as a gift to the city.
The edifice was home to merchants, fishermen, and meat and produce sellers, and provided a platform for the country's most famous orators. It is where colonists first protested the Sugar Act in 1764 and established the doctrine of "no taxation without representation."
Firebrand Samuel Adams rallied the citizens of Boston to the cause of independence from Great Britain in the hallowed Hall, and George Washington toasted the nation there on its first birthday.
Through the years, Faneuil Hall has played host to many impassioned speakers, from Oliver Wendall Holmes and Susan B. Anthony to Bill Clinton and Ted Kennedy, always living up to its nickname, "The Cradle of Liberty."
To better accommodate the merchants and shoppers, Faneuil Hall was expanded in 1826 to include Quincy Market, which was designed in the then-popular Greek Revival style and later dubbed for Boston Mayor Josiah Quincy.
The market remained a vital business hub throughout the 1800's; but by the mid-1900's, the buildings had fallen into disrepair and many stood empty.
The once-thriving marketplace was tagged for demolition until a committed group of Bostonians sought to preserve it in the early 1970's.
Through the vision of Jim Rouse, architect Benjamin Thompson and Mayor Kevin White, the dilapidated structures were revitalized, thoroughly changing the face of downtown Boston.
The 1976 renovation was the first urban renewal project of its kind, one that spawned imitations in this country and abroad.
Today, what is known as Faneuil Hall Marketplace is still Boston's central meeting place, offering visitors and residents alike an unparalleled urban marketplace. The unique and burgeoning array of shops, restaurants and outdoor entertainment have made it a premiere urban destination that attracts more than 18 million visitors annually" Text from Faneuil Hall Marketplace website.
