The card was posted in Salisbury on Thursday the 1st. August 1935 to a Miss H. Tiler of 29, Alan Road, Ipswich, Suffolk.

What Miss Tiler read on the back of the card over 80 years ago is as follows:

"Thursday.

Dear Hilda,

Am having a lovely time. Salisbury is a

very interesting town. Yesterday we went

to Bournemouth.

I thought about you last night - hope the

kit etc. arrived OK.

Best of luck until Sunday,

Dot"

Maybe i was the star while shooting at this location in the narrow walks. Usually tourists from Europe don't appear at this place because it's a pure domestic market for food and other things.

First by checking my shots i note how much people are looking very friendly to me and my camera, i didn't note this before and tried to get so much shots as possible while i followed my family through the walks. To be true, it was a rather stressful situation for me because my plan was to find a modern "Electronic Supermarket". So in any way now i'm sorry that i didn't get in touch with some of those friendly people.

U.S. Senator Dick Durbin held a news conference at Anderson’s Bookshop in Naperville on Friday, January 13 to discuss bi-partisan legislation he has introduced called the Marketplace Fairness Act, which aims to level the playing field between online and “bricks and mortar” merchants. The bill would eliminate the unfair advantage online merchants have over main street businesses by requiring sellers to collect sales tax from out-of-state buyers regardless of whether the seller has a physical presence in the state.
