update june 2008 - per the pew internet The Internet and Consumer Choice report - i can't believe that only 12% of cell phones are procured online. seems like it should be a lot more than that. 78% in-store and ~10% by other means.
miss love and i just went in together on a cell plan c/o amazon.com.
let the address-book transfers begin! since i have them resurrected to enter numbers into the new phone, here are all of the cell phones i've ever owned. they all still work, albeit the buttons on the nokia 3560 in the middle have stopped working reliably. the sony-ericsson w810i (right) is a linux-friendly phone, 2-megapixel camera, and mp3 player all in one. with a 4gb pro duo memory stick, i can go jogging without my minidisc player :-), and even bring home a few photos every now and then! rachel opted for a pink razr phone.
SAR ratings for these phones:
Nokia 6185: 1.07 watts/kg digital, 1.53 watts/kg analog
Nokia 3560 0.85 watts/kg digital, 1.24 watts/kg analog
SE W800i 0.57 watts/kg digital, no analog

The Grand Canal Docks first opened in 1796. At the time they were the world's largest docks. They fell into decline within just a few decades, due mostly to disuse with the arrival of the railways. The landscape was overwhelmed by Dublin Gas Company's mountains of black coal, along with chemical factories, tar pits, bottle factories and iron foundries. However, bakers and millers maintained business along the southern edge of the inner basin.
By the 1960s, the Grand Canal Docks were almost completely derelict. By 1987, it was decided that Hanover Quay was too toxic to sell. Regeneration began in 1998, when Bord Gáis sold the Dublin Docklands Development Authority (DDDA) the former gasworks site located in the area between Sir John Rogerson's Quay and Hanover Quay for €19 million. The DDDA spent €52 million decontaminating the land, even though the likely return was estimated at just €40 million. The decontamination took place under the supervision of the Environmental Protection Agency between 2002 and 2006. The process involved constructing an underground wall eight metres deep around the affected area and the contaminated land dug out and removed. By the time the decontamination was finished, an inflated property bubble and increased demand in the area (brought on, in part, by the decision by Google to set up its European headquarters nearby), allowed the authority to sell the land for €300 million. The DDDA injected some of its new wealth into the area's infrastructure including seers, street lighting, and civic spaces.
A number of significant developments have happened since involving the construction of millions worth of real estate, the arrival of several thousand new residents, and the establishment of what is now known as Silicon Docks.
Most of the buildings surrounding Grand Canal Square such as the Bord Gáis Energy Theatre, The Marker Hotel, and HQ office development, were developed by McCauley Daye O’Connell Architects. Notable buildings in the Grand Canal Dock area include:
Alto Vetro - The Alto Vetro apartment building was awarded the Royal Institute of the Architects of Ireland’s (RIAI) Silver Medal for Housing (2007-2008).It was built by the Montevetro developers Treasury Holdings.
Boland's Mill - Boland's Mill was a functioning mill until 2001. The site, including older stone buildings and taller concrete silos, is now derelict. The site is currently undergoing a €150 million reconstruction to become Bolands Quay, accommodating new residences, commercial, retail, and civic spaces.
Bord Gáis Energy Theatre - The Bord Gáis Energy Theatre is the largest theatre in Ireland. It designed by Polish-American architect Daniel Liebeskind. It was opened as the Grand Canal Theatre in 2010 but renamed in March 2012 as part of a paid naming rights agreement.
The Factory - The Factory houses Irish Film and Television Network studios, as well as rehearsal and recording studios where a number of U2's albums were recorded.
Google Docks - The Montevetro building completed in 2010 stands at a height of 67 metres and is currently the tallest commercial building in Dublin. It was sold to Google in January 2011 and subsequently renamed "Google Docks". In 2014, the Google Docks building was joined by an "iconic" curving three-pronged steel and transparent glass footbridge to Google's two office buildings across Barrow Street - Gordon House and Gasworks House. It has been named "Hyperlink".
The Marker Hotel - The Marker Hotel is one of only six of The Leading Hotels of the World in Ireland. It was designed in 2004 by Portuguese architect Manuel Aires Mateus. It opened in 2013, and offers the city’s first rooftop terrace and bar.[
Millennium Tower - Millennium Tower is an apartment building located on the Grand Canal outer basin. At 63 metres in height, it was the tallest storied building in Dublin from 1998 - 2009. [I dislike it].

originally the honeywell mouse, this was rechristened the keytronic lifetime mouse when keytronic acquired the honeywell keyboard division in 1993. until the laser mouse came along, this thing was the space pen of mice, it worked on any surface, even upside down, and it never got clogged with dirt.

tells us:
"In 1925, the Southern Railway ordered six narrow-bodied Pullman carriages from the Pullman Car Company. All vehicles of this batch were First Class Kitchen cars, and were destined for the Hastings route via Tunbridge Wells Central, a line well known for its narrow tunnels and restrictive clearances. Construction was subcontracted to the Metropolitan Cammell Carriage, Wagon & Finance Company of Birmingham, but production of the elaborate internal marquetry and decoration was the responsibility of Messrs A. Dunn & Son of Chelmsford, Essex. All vehicles of this batch were completed in January 1926."
"Theodora" has a complex history and it is explained in depth in the Kent Rail article (see above link).

This very clean, finely appointed ‘33’ Chrysler Series CO-6 made an excellent showing at the 2012 Salisbury House Concours d’Elegance in Des Moines, Iowa. I am very please to have a picture of this fine classic car in my photo archive of classic, antique cars.
By 1933 the Great Depression had a full grip on the luxury car market. Chrysler was able to sell only 151 cars in its top-of-the-line CL series. Understandably, for 1933, Chrysler's cars powered by six-cylinder engines proved to be their best-selling models. The CO Series accounted for over half of Chrysler's production with 17,865 vehicles produced. Body styles included a business coupe, sedan, 7-passenger sedan, convertible sedan, brougham, roadster coupe, and a convertible coupe. Pricing ranged from $750 - $950.
The L-head six-cylinder engine displaced 234 cubic-inches and offered 83 horsepower. In the front were large streamlined fenders that dipped lower in the front. There was a cowless hood with door type ventilators, 'suicide' rear hinged doors, slanting V-type windshields, sloping V-type radiators, single bar bumpers, and slanted door openings. They came standard with hydraulic brakes, Delco Remy ignition, automatic vacuum clutch, freewheeling, silent helical gear transmission, and a new coincidental starter/accelerator pedal. Six wire wheels were standard on the convertible sedans.

December 2011
This triptych was designed as a companion to the triptych I made for our Relief Beyond Belief Coffee Table Promo ad. Having put the spotlight on the 'coffee table worthiness' of our RBB, the purpose of this ad was to highlight the actual 12-part hands-on project we teach in the bulk of the book (which, by the way, as a PDF, isn't actually bulky at all).
We especially wanted to feature the ease and practicality of using an iPad to read and reference our ebook while at your studio work table. A book may be nice in the hand (or on a coffee table), but a tablet device takes up a lot less real estate on your work surface, and it's easier to keep open at the right page. With the added functionality of pinching, zooming, hyperlinks, and other touch screen technology, we've found it's really an ideal way to access instruction in your studio.
This image was part of our official announcement campaign when we launched Relief Beyond Belief on December 21, 2011. To see more of RBB's 'how-to' words, tools, step-outs, and close-ups, and get this ebook for your own ebookshelf, start here.

A mix of a Request from MBD and a What If?...
The request part is of an Enviro400 MMC in First Olympia livery with local Leeds fleetnames, however I have decided to brand the service which leads me onto the What If?... bit. What if First ordered some of these fine vehicles to replace the Streetcars currently deployed on Hyperlink 72 between Leeds & Bradford. I chose this livery as it would complement the vehicle and the route being blue-based now so wouldnt be too confusing for any customers. One more plus side, it would be able to serve Leeds City Bus Station again! Happy First, Happy Customers and Happy Enthusiasts! win win win.
