Very, very heavy and loud departure from 07R of this 747 classic. Hong Kong used to be 747 classic freighter heaven back in the day.
The airline ended 742F ops in 2013 and retired its last 747, a 744BDSF, in 2015.

How was your monday?
I waited in a carpark as it hailed then snowed, cold northerly wind thinking the forecast was for brighter weather in the late afternoon.
The tide started to ebb then the sky brightened and it stopped snowing. I wanted to shoot three different groynes which I managed to do in the last hour before sunset three long exposures for each groyne.
This was the final shot as the sky turned pink looking out eastward. I was very cold but happy and drove back one and half hours to where I was staying near Southwold.

Balfour Beatty Class 20/9s 20905 and 20901 rattle past Offord Cluny with the 6J09 1212 Crewe Gresty Lane Down Sidings to Welwyn G.C. F.D. drain train move.
Double CN C44-9Ws 2541 and 2658 race through Spruce Grove with a westbound grain train. It was cool to see these two in amongst the sea of GE Evolution units.

Hamersley Iron GE Dash 9s 7074-7082 control a heavy load of Yandi iron ore downgrade through scenic s-curves near the 432km peg late, in the afternoon on September 11, 2002.
IIRC this line didn’t exist 4 years earlier in 1998 as I'm sure I spoke to a survey crew planning a line in this general area during my visit and potential shots like this were discussed. My notes indicate that we also saw the Hamersley Marandoo branch being constructed on August 25, 1998.
