Walkway to the largest of the Martello Towers situated here at Aldeburgh in Suffolk, taken ultra wide angle with a Laowa 9mm Dreamer @f8.
This Martello Tower was originally built by the British when they were threatened by the armies of Napoleon. It was part of a string of 29 fortresses that ran like a necklace around the British coast. Each was home to a garrison of 25 men – one can imagine the thick stone walls echoing to the sounds of them relaxing, drinking, and telling tales. It was designed to give the maximum range to four guns each firing ship-maiming cannonballs.
A male Eastern Water Skink (Eulamprus quoyii) basks on a stream-side rock up at Paluma in the wet tropics region of NE Queensland, Australia.
A wonderful symphony of colour, light and bokeh rendering from the classic Pentacon lens. Image taken on a Canon EOS 5D Mark 3 DSLR coupled to a vintage German M42 Pentacon M42 30/3.5 lens with a 9mm M42 extension tube attached. A third party M42 to EOS adapter incorporated. Image shot wide-open and hand-held, with a touch of fill-flash. Apart from RAW conversion and the most basic of editing, image shot as is.
I love my Pentacon.

McMonagle’s Floating Fish and Chip Shop, known as the Debra Rose, is a famous Clydebank landmark on the Forth and Clyde Canal.
Its owner, John McMonagle, appeared on Dragons’ Den in 2011 with his invention, the “Karnap,” an inflatable car-bed system designed to let drivers and passengers sleep safely and privately in their cars.
The restaurant is housed in a purpose-built vessel named after John McMonagle’s daughter Debbie.
The boat is permanently berthed on the Forth and Clyde Canal in Clydebank, near Argyll Road.
Marketed as Scotland’s first floating restaurant.
Offers both sit-down dining and takeaway.
Includes a quirky “Sail-Thru” window, where boaters can order fish and chips directly from the canal without stepping ashore.

Second only to landing a person on the moon the Reese's peanut butter cup stands as one of humankind's greatest achievements. (good thing they come in three packs because aesthetics are very important and two of the three did not make the grade and needed to be consumed immediately to avoid confusion).
